Veteran actress Krishna Kumari is no more

One of the finest actresses of the first generation Tollywood, Krishna Kumari breathed her last today at her residence in Bengaluru. The actress hails from Rajahmundry and appeared in a brief role as a Gandharva Kanya in the 1951 film ‘Patala Bhairavi’. She later went onto star in several memorable hits including Kulagotralu, Gudigantalu, Chikkadu Dorakadu, Bharya Bhartalu and a Hindi film titled ‘Rati’. However, the actress retracted from films after she married a gentleman from Bangalore but had appeared only in a recent video interview.

Born on March 6, 1933, Krishna Kumari entered films in 1951 and made her last on-screen appearance with the 1976 film ‘Jyothi’ and passed away today, aged 85. May her soul rest in peace and strength to her family
