There would be no one in the two Telugu speaking states who isn’t familiar with the name Anasuya. That’s the popularity of this Jabardasth anchor. Recently, she made her debut with the blockbuster Soggaadae Chinni Naayana playing a supporting character. Now she’s playing a lead role in Kshanam which is yet to be released. As part of the promotion, she gave us an interview to share her thoughts.

With a couple of films in your hand, are you going to continue in the TV industry?
Though I’m getting busy with films these days, I’m sure I’ll never quit the TV industry. It has taught me everything and is the reason behind whatever I am now. Actually, Kshanam had to be my first film but Soggadae chinni naayana was released prior. I’m excited to witness the audiences’ reaction watching me playing a lead role.

How is your character going to be in this film?
I’ve been to the U.S.A to participate in Devi Sri Prasad’s concert for 45 days. During that period, I got a message from Adavi Sesh that he wanted me to listen to a story. However, I wasn’t able to meet him as I was busy. Upon my arrival to India, he met me in a coffee shop and narrated the story. I thought he’s going to offer me the ‘Shwetha’ role but they made me play a crucial role called Jaya Bharadwaj who’s a cop. In the start I was a bit nervous but later I’ve gained confidence. This character is an amalgam of authority and elegance.

Who’s your inspiration to play this role?
I’ve watched quite a many cop films but never tried to imitate those roles. To be honest, I can imitate people but for this role I wanted to be myself.

Didn’t you feel that your role in Soggaadae is too small?
I’m very choosy about my roles in TV or cinema. My role and director’s capability are the prerequisites for me to sign a project. Nagarjuna sir is my favorite actor and I was on cloud nine when I was offered the role. This made me act in it though my role was of less duration. I’ve chosen TV industry as I would be the center of attraction of the show but in cinema, it isn’t the case. This little greed made me stay away from films.

How do you take the comments on your glamourous roles?
I’m married and I’m blessed with children. Even in Bollywood there are many actors who’re continuing in this business even after getting married. Audience will never think about the personal lives of the actors while watching a film. They just want to be entertained. I have my equal share of followers and haters. Yes, I had my tough times but my family and husband stood by me. They assured me that they know what kind of a person I am. I’m not answerable to anyone.

About your popularity!
Most of the people think that I’ve attained fame in a very short period. But they have no clue how hard have I worked to achieve this. I wanted to tell this to all my haters but later thought that it’s not my job to do so.

What do you think is the difference between TV and cinema industries?
I’m still a new comer and a constant learner. I don’t find any difference between the two. I think TV shows require more discipline when compared to films. I found acting in films is an easy job than a TV show.
