‘This film will wipe out all formulas’ - Teja

Making a strong comeback after nearly a good 10 years, Teja is confident about his upcoming political drama ’Nene Raju Nene Mantri’. The director spoke about his new resolution and the experiences while filming.  

Did you intend the film for someone else?

Yes, While I formed a first liner of the film, I titled it ‘Aham’ and approached Rajasekhar for the protagonist. Since I didn’t want to tweak the story too much, I dropped the idea and made a few changes and pitched it to Rana. With Rana’s quick nod, The film hit the sets. 

Hasn’t It been too long since the film started?

Yes, I began the film before Baahubali -2 but because of the film’s stupendous success, We had to restart the film and finally finished it. 

Has Teja changed? 

I’m aware of the loop holes in my stories that led to my past failures. This time, I’ve decided to really emphasize the story and make it fool proof.

How is the response for the trailer?

The response is really good. Those who avoided me in the past are now extending their friendship! 

Is Rana playing a negative role in the film?

Not exactly, Usually protagonist is seen one-sided with all the positive aspects but Jogendra will be seen in all of his shades just like a fellow human in real life. 

How is the film going to be?

This film doesn’t have a meter like the usual ones. While incorporated with all the commercial elements, The characters will resemble an Art film. Just like my previous work ‘Chitram’, This film will wipe off all the calculations of standard format films. 

How is Rana as an actor? 

Rana is a very smart actor. Unlike many stars, He doesn’t consider himself the best and stays in the character even a day after he reads the script. 

Is this an entirely new story?

No. It’s not. This is a familiar story but the backdrop is a fresh take shot in a new way.

How was Kajal’s acting?

After hearing the story, Mr.Suresh Babu made sure Kajal played the female lead in the film. Kajal has really picked up over the years, Her ease of acting has increased considerably and she owned her character more than me! 

What will be some of the memorable performances of the film?

Rana and Kajal will be lauded for their performances along with the cinematography and music 

How was it working with Suresh Productions?

I always wanted work with Mr.D.Ramnaidu but couldn’t. it’s been really joyous working with Mr.Suresh Babu

How did Mr.Suresh Babu aid the film?

A producer should let the director work in peace and trust him with the task. Mr.Suresh Babu did just that and the film’s output came out ten times better because of his trust.
