Gopichand is coming back with an ultra sleek action entertainer this season with ‘Gautam Nanda’. The star feels content on doing the film and shared his joy with us

How is this film important to your career?

It’s been over a year since my last film but I'm confident about this film. This film will not only become a big hit but will also boost my career.

What is your character in the film?

I play Ghattamaneni Gautam in the film. The plot unfolds as to what events have transformed Nanda into becoming Gautam Nanda. Since my new look has been embraced by the audience, I’m sure it will add to my future projects.

How was your collab with Sampath Nandi?

Sampath Nandi is very clear on the sets. He knows how to get variations out of his characters. The execution of the story was better than the narration. The film will be his best work to date.

What do you think about the films exceeded budget? There is no weight behind the rumors about exceeding budget. Producers got their dough through table profits even before the release. I hope the distributors earn their profits too and anticipating audience support.

Do you think your career is moving at a brisk pace?

I agree with making some bad script selections but we can’t always control our career graph. I just kept making films whenever possible, It took me a year now to come back to the big screen. However, Gautam Nanda will clear out all these speculations.

Would you choose a film with out action sequences?

No. Even if it’s a love story, I make sure there is an action episode in there because that’s my strength. Audience expect a certain amount of action from me and I make sure to deliver. When is your next film ‘Oxygen’ gonna come out? I'm not quite sure about the release date of Oxygen. some part of the film is yet to be shot and I'm waiting eagerly as you are for the release. What’s your voice on the drugs culture? I was deeply hurt as everybody else after I learned about youth’s fascination with drugs. However, It’s unfair to talk only about the film industry and I hope the government drives clean the educational institutions too. What are your future projects? Still, haven’t signed any project yet though I'm shuffling through various story ideas. I don’t want to batter my career with negative and supportive roles as I did in the future. I’ll move a head with a planned strategy.
