SIIMA Awards ’17 - Jr. NTR on an award spree

SIIMA (South India International Movie Awards) is hosting its 6th consecutive event in Abu Dhabi during 30th June and 1st July to praise the talents from South Indian cinema. The annual event is regularly attended by all the big names in the Industry and this year is no exception. The event is followed by a honorary tribute to the late Mr. Dasari Narayana Rao, a forerunner of Telugu cinema.

The event is being hosted by Allu Sirish as 'DJ’ and Roshan and will celebrate Telugu and Kannada films on the first day (30th June) and Tamil and Malayalam on the second (1 July). Veteran Tollywood actor Mr. Murali Mohan was handed a 'Lifetime achievement award’ for his long years of work by Dr. Bala Subrahmanyam. Jr. NTR won his 3rd consecutive award in 2017 as Best Actor (Male) for Janata Garage after Shankarabharanam awards (Janata Garage) and Film fare (Nannaku Premato). Rakul Preet Singh won best actor (female) for Nannaku Premato, Niveda Thomas received Best Debut award female for Gentleman, Roshan received best Debut award male for Nirmala Convent while Nani won Best actor (male) category under critic category. DSP won best music director award while ‘Pellichoopulu’ was the best film of the year.
