Actress Tulasi’s grand tribute to her mentor and visionary director K. Vishwanath pours in as the Shankarabharanam awards are being inaugurated here on Tuesday. Jr. Ntr, Dhanush, Alia bhatt and Aamir khan are among the recipients of the awards inception ceremony.

Aamir khan receives best actor - Hindi for Dangal, Alia bhatt for best actress - Hindi (Udta Punjab), Dhanush for best director - Tamil (Pa Pandy) while Jr. NTR bags his second acting trophy in a row for best actor - Telugu (Janata Garage) after his recent Film fare - best actor - south for his composed acting in Nannaku Prematho (2017).

“I feel privileged to present these awards in honor of my mentor Mr. K. Vishwanath who guided by example, all of us actors and technicians during his glorious directing career” Tulasi said.

The awards facilitate all the 24 crafts of Telugu cinema along with selected categories of Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada films. The awards are named in the honor of K. Vishwanath’s notable work Shankarabharanam (1982) which is still considered a classic of Telugu cinema.
