Sankarabharanam: Completes 4 Decades

Sankarabharanam is an artistic visual treat that tells the Telugu film fame to the world. The film completes 40 years by February 2. This film was released on February 2, 1980 in the joint Andhra Pradesh. Under the direction of Kalatapasavi Vishwanand, Edida Nageshwara Rao and Akasam Sri Ramulu produced this film under Purnodaya Art Creations Banner.  

It is a well-known film that has been inaugurated by the alliance between Sankara Shastri and Tulasi. The movie received tremendous success not only in Telugu but also in the neighboring states of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala. The first film to be released in regular theaters in America. This is the Telugu cinema that has been released in many countries around the world.  

In the days when classical music was kept aside, many people started learning classical music after its release. When it comes to awards, this movie received national awards. This is also the first Telugu film to receive a Swarna Kamalam in Telugu. For the first time, singers SP Balasubrahmanyam became the best playback singer.
