Having worked with major stars in Tollywood and still reigned as one of the top actresses across South, Rakul Preet Singh is awaiting the release of her next film ‘Jaya Janaki Nayaka’. The actress spoke her mind about her experience and the people she worked with.

Tell us about the film?

This is a different story coming from Mr. Boyapati garu when compared to his other films. Though an emotional love story, The film will clearly have Boyapati’s mark on it. The hero wins against all odds to protect his love and such a deep love story hasn’t been attempted in recent times.

How is your character going to be in the film?

I play Janaki, a happy go lucky student in the film. But due to unforeseen circumstances, my character goes through a deep crisis and stay depressed through most of the film.

Wasn’t it hard to play a wimpy character throughout?

Yes, It was hard. It used to take me a while to get out of the character. I never called my mom or answer her calls during the shoot fearing that I would be normal again.

How was your second time working with Boyapati?

I know his style very well. Since I understand his expectations from the actors, It was easy for me to deliver the desired result. He is one of the intelligent directors that I've worked with.

Tell us about your hero Bellamkonda Srinivas?

He worked through out the film with the same energy and had really put in the hard work. It’s been a good experience working with him.

Recently Nivetha and Sai Pallavi made a good name as actresses. Do you feel the heat?

I’ve Seen Nivetha’s acting in Ninnu Kori and she’s done very well. I have yet to see Fidaa but heard a lot about Sai Pallavi. However, I don’t ever feel any competition from others and isn’t it a good thing that some good actors are entering Tollywood?

News claims that you’ve signed a film with Pawan Kalyan?

No. I haven’t yet signed Mr.Pawan Kalyan’s film. If I do, I’ll announce it myself.

You look focused on Kollywood and Bollywood?

Not necessarily. I’m doing all kinds of films across Tamil and Telugu. Whenever I find a good story, I choose to do it.
