“People are appreciating the film” - A.M.Ratnam

Director A.M.Jyothi Krishna and hero Gopichand have joined forces to deliver a successful film this weekend with ‘Oxygen’. The film was made on S. Aishwarya’s Sri Sai Ram banner and here is an interview with the producer Mr.A.M.Ratnam

How was the success response?

The response is very good. Collections have picked up from the initial release on Friday and today. Many viewers are calling me personally to appreciate the good message in the film.

What did you feel after hearing the story?

I wasn’t looking for the story before producing it. Jyothi Krishna narrated the story to Mr.Gopi Chand before me and Mr.Gopi Chand called me up with the proposal for making the film. During the shooting of Tamil film ‘Vedalam’ itself, director Siva has suggested that Jyothi Krishna take up the subject and also referred Gopi Chand as the hero.

Jyothi Krishna wanted to remake the film in Tamil?

Yes, the idea is still alive. Since the film is embedded with a good message, the script can be filmed in any language. One of my friends from Bangalore called me up suggesting that the film can be made in Bollywood with Ajay Devgan and Akshay Kumar. I wanted to make the film in Kannada with Mr.Siva Kumar but as he was out of the city, I couldn’t meet him for the narration.

When’s the film with Mr.Pawan Kalyan?

There will definitely be a film with Mr.Pawan Kalyan but as he is currently busy with the current shooting, the proposal will have to wait.

The film was delayed right?

Actually, Gopichand’s previous film ‘Aradugula Bullet’ was supposed to release a long ago but faced several problems. Since Gopi Chand himself suggested to let ‘Gautham Nanda’ release first, we had to postpone the release. there’s no other reason for the delay.
