Nagarjuna guided us as a coach - Omkar

Director Omkar - Nagarjuna’s latest horror/action entertainer Raju Gari Gadi 2 is releasing this Friday and director Omkar shared his movie-making experience in the interview below…

.That’s why the second film was delayed…

- My wellwishers advised me to go for another horror flick after Raju Gari Gadi. I narrated the script to Venkatesh at the time, but he was already committed to Guru. He suggested we can maybe collaborate on Raju Gari Gadi 3 or 4. I went and approached Mr.PVP and he wanted to make Raju Gari Gadi 2 at the earliest. He then sent me the trailer of Pretam and asked If we could do something like it. I told him that I would change the entire story according to the soul and asked him to buy the rights if interested.

. We adapted just the soul from it….

- In Malayalam, the soul doesn’t have a prominent character. But in Telugu, as Nagarjuna has a good family audience, we added emotions to the character and other fun elements as comedy. Mr.Nirajan had suggested Samanta’s name for playing soul.

. That is what is exciting… - The way the story is told in the

- The way the story is told in the film is what excites you. Nagarjuna and Samantha are doing a horror film for the first time. After listening to the story, Nagarjuna jumped on board and Samanta joined a month later. Samanta knew Nagarjuna was acting in the film but Nagarjuna had no clue about Samanta’s role. At the early stages of story development, Nagarjuna used to guide us like a coach in every crisis and never let his stardom come in the way. Once the production was on, he never interfered in the process and did what the director asked.

. It was never delayed…

- VFX is something beyond our control so If we give out the project at the earliest, we can follow the schedule as planned. Seniors like Nagarjuna know that certain things will be done only with pressurizing things. Making a movie is harder than a marriage and it was never delayed.

. We added that touch…

- Nagarjuna will be playing a mentalist called Rudra. To make the character appeal to the B and C center audiences, we gave him the ability to predict the future. We added a divine touch of Rudrakshas for his character.

. Series will continue…

- Samantha gave the best performance of her career with Raju Gari Gadi 2 and she will be remembered after the film. Like the Dhoom series in Bollywood, Raju Gari Gadi will have 3 and 4th parts as well

. Next projects…

- I’ve not yet decided if I will make Raju Gari Gadi 3 or a new concept. If Mr.Venkatesh agrees, Raju Gari Gadi 3 will happen. Based on the success of Raju Gari Gadi 2, my next projects will be decided and most probably, I’m going to make a film with PVP banner.
