My father is my icon- Balakrishna

Late N.T.Rama Rao’s son, Nandamuri Balakrishna has filled a remarkable place in the Telugu film industry and his mythological, social and folk characters has stolen the hearts of people. Balakrishna has owned the powerful roles of Narsaimha Reddy, Samarasimha Reddy, Legend and Simha.

Travelling all along with aderline-rush performances, he celebrates the 100th film, “Gouthamiputhra Satakarni,” directed by Jaggarlamudi Krish and produced by, Jaggarlamudi Saibabu and Y. Rajeev Reddy under First Prime Entertainment.

The movie is releasing worldwide on January 12.

In interview with Balakrishna....

What is the reason to choose Gauthamaputhra story as your 100th film?

Actually, father’s wish was to play this epic role but it was not fulfilled. "Gauthamiputhra Sathakarini", a Telugu person and is a warrior who wants to combine all the states into one nation and I’m privileged to play this role moreover its being my father’s wish.

How did you research about story?

Only little information was found on this topic. P.V. Parabrahma Sastry and Devullapalli Krishnasastri have provided some information.

You might have watched the film…what is your reaction?

My experience is inexpressible and audience will also feel the same after watching movie.

Historical film was completed in less time… how is it possible and your opinion on Krish working style?

The working of style Kirsh has perfect planning. He has exchanged and discussed his views, suggestions with the team. His direction differs according to hero. Hats off to Krish!

Describe Shiva Rajkumar role in movie & Hema Malani, senior actress has acted… What is your thought?

I got an idea and has requested Shiva Rajkumar to act in film and he wasn’t part of other languages till now. He appears in one song. I thank Shiva Rajkumar for accepting my request.

The movie is empty without Hema Malini's presence. She has acted in “Pandava Vanavasamu” with father and now with me.

Can you tell about Sriya’s character?

She plays as the wife of Gauthamiputhra Sathakarini and gave her best outcome.

Both films, Khaidi and Gauthamiputhra are releasing on Sankranti. What you say?

Competition is good as quality movies come in. It’s good for industry too. All the best to both films, for their success!

Any training in horse racing?

No, the horse racing scenes are seen in “Legend” followed by a stunt. I did without dupe. The horse racing scenes are shot under fight masters, Ram - Lakshman guidelines and know about my aggressiveness.

Did you feel tensed for your role?

No, I wasn’t tensed. N.T.R, M.G.R and A.N.R have palyed such intense roles and I has acted with their inspiration. My energetic characters, Narasimha Reddy, Samarasimha Reddy also gave strength. My father is my icon!

Legend, a path breaker and what are your hopes on Gouthamiputhra Satakarni ?

The movie will create a new record.

When your next movie starts?

It’s a farmer story in Krishna Vamsi’s direction. We met Amitabh Bachchan to be part of the film and it won’t start, if he disapproves.
