How is Mental Madilo going to be?

This is my second film after Pelichoopulu. I can’t say I’ve made a great film but this story is very close to my heart. Director narrated me a story called ‘Kavyam’ which was very poetic. I was skeptical on how a poetic concept would do commercially. The director came up with the story with in a week and Mental Madilo happened. He ran me through a detailed narration for 2 and a half hours and I was immediately invested in it. Hero’s characterisation very distinct as a confused youth. The first half of the film is very comical and the second half is filled with conflict. Shivaji Raja’s role is a highlight in the film and Sri Vishnu did a fine job.

Why was Vishnu chosen for the role?

As long as I was listening to the story, I’ve envisioned Vishnu in the role. I’ve expressed my view to Vivek and he okayed it. Sri Vishnu heard the story and agreed to do the film immediately.

Highlights about the film?

Everybody expected me to make a big film after Pellichoopulu but I’m content introducing several new comer actors and technicians in the field.

Your relation with Mr.Suresh Babu?

I wasn’t trying to impress upon Mr.Suresh Babu in any way. Mr.Suresh Babu himself has watched the film and wanted to associate with the project. I was more than happy as such a renowned producer took up our vision.

Reason for making movies with short film makers?

There’s a way to find the mettle in short film makers. I work a lot on the pre-production and this saves my time during production. I’m planing to work with short film makers for my next film as well.
