Maruthi’s latest collaboration with Sharwanand, Mahanubahvudu was a big hit at the box office and the director addressed the media about his new projects and more

How is the response for the film?

Mahanubhavudu increased my role as a responsible director. All my previous pictures were of varying genres but the audience regarded them all as good entertainers. But Mahanubhavudu had all the elements of love, entertainment and social message in it. The film has perfectly met audience expectations and I’m looking to keep it going.

Would you keep making settled films?

You can be assured of message-oriented entertainers from director Maruthi. I’ll keep making settled films as I don’t make films for a special message.

How’s your film with Naga Chaitanya going to be?

Director is like a tailor as he crafts the story that fits the star and I design my stories as per the hero. I’ve been traveling with Chai for quite some time and looking for a perfect story that matches his body language. I’m building a young love story for Chaitanya and currently involved in the pre-production works as the shoot commences from November.

Who is the first critique of your story?

Only if I could feel the story as an audience, I try to take it to the big screen. I first share my idea with my close friends and later to 100s of people. I then slowly begin working on my idea.

Who do you want to work with?

I don’t differentiate between old, new or Top hero and youngsters. I would like to work with anyone. I just don’t like making sequels and remakes.
