‘After Kicking off her career as a journalist, Jaya.B became the General manager for ‘Superhit’ daily and earned a good name for herself. With passion towards films, Jaya ventured into directing films with ‘Chantigadu’ and went to impress the audience with ‘Gundamma Gari Manavadu’, ‘Lovely’ and ‘Vaisakham’. Jaya B also received a silver crown award for her work ‘Vaisakham’ and celebrates her birthday today… Dynamic director Jaya B said “‘Vaisakham’ gave me a sense of satisfaction and everybody has been appreciating me for the film. We are coming up with another film titled ‘Lucky Fellow’ from our home banner R.J Cinemas. We’ll begin the shoot from June and wrap it with in 3 - 4 months. The script work is currently underway and a young hero is acting in the film. Usually, some people get sudden chances in life and score big with it. This is the characterisation of the hero and the story unfolds with several questions…Does the hero take the chance? does he mis use it? does he grow to heights? all these questions will be answered in the story. We are designing the character based on human psychology. Heroine’s characterisation is really strong. Many girls deal with inappropriate situations in many public spaces like nudging, cat calling and touching. These experiences haunt a girl for several years and cause a lot of mental stress. Our heroine deals with such sensitive issues and is not just cast for romance or a few songs.

‘Vaiskakham’ brought us great commercial success and we’ve received a Silver crown too. We are looking forward to entertain the audience again as I myself am a big fan of entertainment. I’m looking forward to leave a mark with my films and then want to go meet people, and help them in as many ways as I can. I was the only lady journalist at Andhra Jyothi’s Labbipet office and when I visited the Ramoji Journalism school as a professor, several women took inspiration after me. There should be an increase in the number of female directors and female journalists

I’m not planning to make a web series and the craze for Cinema is unparallel to a web series. People still talk about ‘Chanti Gadu’, ‘Lovely’ and ‘Vaisakham’ and that’s the power of cinema”
