When did you get a thought about Gauthamiputhra & any research done?

My grandfather’s place is Guntur and Amaravati visit has fascinated me with little knowledge on Sathavahana Empire. So, thought was born then. From 2 years, i'm doing research on "Gauthamiputhra Sathakarini" but not able to collect much information. In Tamil Nadu, I found some details. With the available information, we’ve presented the film.

Reason for selecting Balakrishna as a hero and can you brief about movie?

Balakrishna is an apt person for the movie and he has given thumbs up to act. "Gauthamiputhra Sathakarini" is a warrior, who wants to combine all the states into one nation. He travels on a horse to the places for unity. What is his goal and the situations he faces across..is a story.

It’s not correct to compare these two movies as Bahubali is a fanatasy film while Gauthamiputhra is historical.

We heard that, there were suggestions from director, S.S. Rajamouli?

Yes, he said that graphics, visual effects are time consuming and hence, keep it natural.

How did you finish a heavy film in less time?

Everything is pre-planned. The movie announcement was made at Amaravati, inauguration at Hyderabad, trailer release at Kotilingeshwara and audio release at Tirupati.

As its Balakrishna’s 100th film, were you tensed?

No, I wasn’t tensed and want to showcases greatly. I’m happy to direct the 100th film of Balakrishna.

Gauthamiputhra& Khaidi No.150 running competitively as released to be on Sankranti, what is your opinion?

I hope that two movies will be given equal importance. The wrong news is posted in social media and that’s not correct. I wish good luck for all the movies releasing on Sankranti.
