Sakthi Sounder Rajan has directed Miruthan with Jayam Ravi and Lakshmi Menon as the lead pair in Tamil. Now it’s being dubbed to Telugu as Yamapaasam which is going to be released on the 19th of February. On this account, Jayam Ravi spoke a few words with the media.

A science fiction film!
Yamapaasam  is going to introduce a new genre in the South Indian cinema. We’ve chosen the Zombie genre for this film. Nearly 400 films were made in Hollywood based on this genre. When Sakthi narrated the story I felt positive about it. However, it’s very risky to attempt this sort of films. He has manifested this film as a science fiction.

About my role
I’ve played the role of a traffic police. Till date no hero has acted as traffic police in any south Indian films. This made me choose the role as it looks fresh. This story is about a guy who never takes any risk in his life and the hardships he faces and the way he resolves them.

Reason behind the delay
I’ve started my career as a child artist in Telugu. My father had financed many Telugu films. My debut movie was planned in Telugu in association with M. S Rau sir, however things didn’t work. After watching Jayam in Telugu, we thought it suits me well and opted for the remake.  Later I’ve acted in many remakes like Amma Nanna Oh Tamilammayi and Varsham which were commercially successful in Tamil Nadu too. This made me settle there but I was waiting to do a Telugu film for quite a time. This film made my dream come true. Hereafter I want to do Telugu films.

Man against Nature
We all had seen many films with the Man vs. Man concepts. We wanted to present the film with a global concept which is Man vs. Nature. We humans are destroying the nature in myriad ways. This story deals with the basic idea of nature acting against us. We’ve shot the film for 55 days. I hope our hard work pays off.

About Visual Effects
This film comprises of 1500 graphic shots which plays a crucial role in the film. All the visual effects are blended in such a way that it’s impossible to distinguish them. I usually spend 10 days for dubbing for any film but for this one, I’ve finished the whole dubbing part for just one day. It tells how seldom my character speaks in the film.

No reference!
I watch almost all movies and I’ve watched many Hollywood Zombie films too. But, I haven’t watched any specific film as a reference to this one.

About Lakshmi Menon
Lakshmi has played the role of a responsible doctor. She prefers performance oriented roles to glamorous ones. She believed in her role and played it with sheer dedication.

More responsibility on me
Thani Oruvan made me more responsible. I’m happy that Ram Charan is playing my role in Telugu.

Once more with Arvind
I’m acting with Arvind Swamy for the second time in a new film. I’ll reveal the further details soon.

Film with my brother
I discuss about every film I do with my brother. Recently, he narrated a story to me and I loved it.
