Item songs are torture - Thaman

Thaman is the music director who has composed music to big heroes in a very short
span. Thaman has worked with almost all star heroes in Tollywood. Recently he has
composed music to Movie Sarrainodu which is directed by Boyapati starring Allu Arjun.
The movie’s audio is recently launched and is successfully entertaining the listeners. On
this occasion Thaman spoke to the reporters.

Working with Bunny gives confidence and energy, he chooses songs according to the
situation, he is very cautious while choosing choreography, lyrics, locations. Bunny did
not spend time while composing tunes to Sarrainodu except for the party song. Bunny
has sound technical knowledge. He has good commanding on international world top
DJ Idioms. For this movie we have given class songs have a mass touch.
You can hear a new roar in instrumental aspect. In fact we have imported drums
especially from Ludhiana and special drums from rural areas of AP for Blockbuster
Song.

Are you are manipulating your voice in every movie?
I don’t want my voice to be heard in each movie I make, and I won’t force for the same. I
would only sing when my voice suits the song and director asks me to sing. In such
manner I have sung for few song of Ravi Teja garu.

How is it working with Boyapati garu?
Devi has composed songs for Boyapati’s movie Badhra. I have board programmed with
Devi sir for that movie. I have board programmed for almost twenty movies with Devi.
Initially I was little tensed to work with Boyapati garu but after one week of
commencement of the movie the ice between us broken.

Composing what kind of songs is torturous to you?
Composing to item songs is difficult. Other songs can be composed easily. Item songs
are torturous. Devi has composed Ringa Ringa and Topu lechipoddhi songs for bunny,
how will Thaman compose for bunny is in every one’s mind and this creates pressure.
But working without competition is waste is my feeling.

Will you act in the movies again?
Heard a story from Atlee associates, planning Boys2 movie with that story . That project
will be finalized in two months. I will also compose music to that movie.

Any plans of composing in Bollywood?
I have plans to work in Bollywood but I do not have clarity and contacts with those
directors, so I have decided to work with the directors who are moving from here to
Bollywood.

Which kind of movies do you enjoy working?
Personally I like composing movies to thriller movies. Presently I am not working to such
movies. I will work for movies which have good concept. Till now I have worked for only
high standard commercial movies. But someday I will definitely work for a love story.
Remixing songs will bring comparisions. Tension in remixing one song equals
composing ten new songs. I was so tensed while remaking the Shubalekha song. It was
a difficult task.

What are your upcoming projects?
Making a album on how love is divided in one’s life. That album will be released in parts
every three months and entire album will be released in 2017. Thaman ended the
meeting saying that he is composing for a movie which coming in combination of
director Gopichand Malineni and hero Sai Dharma Tej.
