Interview with Director of Lacchindheviki oh lekkundhi

Named with an unconventional title, "Lacchimdheviki Oh Lekkundhi", featuring Lavanya Tripathi (Bhal Bhale Magaadivoy fame) and Naveen Chandra is creating buzz across the 2 Telugu speaking states.  

As a part of the promotions, director of this film, Jagadish Talasila had a few words with the media.

Tell us about the concept of the film?
Since 1950 huge sums of money are being piled up in the banks with no one to claim it. Even India is no exception to this issue and our story revolves around the same. This film is an amalgam of thrill and entertainment.  

Does the film solely deal with entertainment?  
According to Quran, seeking interest for the money lent is a sin. So, most of the Muslims never accept the interest offered by the banks. So that currency worth millions is lying there unnoticed. Even an ordinance had been passed in the Indian Parliament regarding this issue. This movie is a mere attempt to get the money out. It's going to be informative yet entertaining.  

You've worked under S.S. Rajamouli for a quite a time, is there any influence?
I've worked under Rajamouli sir for the films "Magadheera"," Marayadha Ramanna", and "Eega". But that didn't influence me in the process of making this film. Rajamouli sir hasn't watched the film yet as he doesn't attend premiere shows.  He's going to watch it on the release day.

A few words about M.M. Keeravani's music?
I've approached Keeravani sir to request him to work for the film. He asked me to narrate the entire story and accepted to join us after two days. At the start, I was a bit tensed but he made me feel comfortable.   

What is the reason behind opting for Lavanya Tripathi?  
Lavanya had played 2 characters (Uma Devi and Ankaallamma) in the film. The whole story is centered on these characters. I always knew that she's a versatile actress and I wanted the audience to witness her in these complex roles. She did absolute justice to the film. An introductory song sequence of hers will stand as a special attraction.  

Why lead of the film to be delayed?
The audio of the film was released in October 2015 and we planned the movie release in November. Due to an unforeseen delay in the delivery of the visual effects, we had to postpone it.  

How was the support from the producer? 
The producer is a close friend of mine. As he's new to the business, I've taken care of the production process alongside the direction. Under this production house, we're planning to produce films directed by newcomers in future.

what are your future projects?  
As of now, I don't have a concrete plan for my next film. But I want to make a family entertainer.
