I’m wholly concentrated on Telugu industry - Riya Chakravarti

In contrary to many stars migrating from tollywood to the B- town, Riya chakravarti (half girlfriend, bank chor) the former MTV video jockey is keen on making a career in the Telugu film industry.

‘My dad is an army officer from Bengal, my mom is from Mangalore. I was born and brought up in Pune. After working in Tunega Tunega (Telugu), I got several offers from bollywood including Meri dad ki Maruti, Sonali cable, Bank chor to the recent Arjun kapoor starrer Half girlfriend. Bank chor, in which I play a journalist and Half girlfriend earned me good reputation and positive reviews from fans and critics.

I take fitness very seriously and am well trained in martial arts and belly dancing. I also write stories as a personal pleasure but cannot direct. I’ve learnt acting from a theatre group and wish to be remembered for memorable characters in Telugu. Though I was approached for various roles, I chose not do stories that sounded cliché.

Pawan Kalyan, Mahesh babu, Rana, Allu Arjun are my favourite stars in Telugu and Vidya Balan and Anushka are my favourite heroines. I'm about to start working on a Telugu project and fortunate enough to work with a star. I will soon release more details on this venture. I am wholly concentrated on Telugu film industry at the moment and even started brushing up my Telugu speaking skills!
