I’ll direct Mahabharatam - Daasari

Dasari Narayana Rao garu has made his debut from the movie “Tata-Manavadu” and directed more than 150 movies where he got immense popularity.

He has celebrated his birthday on May 4th and attended a press meet.

Tell us about Pawan movie?

We are going to start a movie with Pawan Kalyan, the story is ready. Even Trivikram is working on this, but we are not revealing the director name. I’m also going to start three more movies where one movie is a complete love story and it will be played by all new character artists. Remaining two movies can be directed by any one of the directors

What’s your opinion about the recent love stories?
Today’s love stories contain changed trend and unchanged trend. Love is not lust. I will not yield the stories that say I love u in the first look. I’m making a story which will be attracted by the youth, I’m going to show all the pains which will be faced by a boy and girl. I have written this story a very long back as me and Rama Naidu garu wants to make the movie together. Because of his health conditions we have stopped this venture.

We have listened that you are making Mahabharatam?
I want to make the Mahabharatam as 5 parts where 2 are already completed. We are going to start the third part. I have listened that someone else is going to make the Mahabharatam but I’m not going to leave that project and that movie will be the last movie from my direction. 

Have you listened about the disturbances created by the distributors?
If the movie is not playing well, giving back the remuneration is not a fair thing. Forty years ago, distributors used to call the people for lending the money. When buyers have lost because of the movies, heroes used to reduce the remunerations for their next movies; this trend is followed by a very long back. If hero and directors combination is a hit pair then buyers used to take the movie paying a fancy amount for all of them. If the movie has lost with 20-30% then it is not the responsibility of hero or producer or director. If it is a disaster then they should pay the amount to fill their loss. In the last days, Allu Aravind and Rajinikanth has paid the amount. Recently, even Mahesh Babu, Pawan Kalyan, Vinayak and Srinu Vaitla has paid the amount to distributors who lost. They will buy the movie having is some trust on us and we should keep the faith.There is nothing wrong in asking the money and giving the money in my opinion but coming on to the roads is not correct in my opinion.

What help should cine industry get from the government?
Hyderabad should become cinema hub. For this Tamil, Kannada, north and Bollywood industry should come here. It requires almost 2000 acres to construct cinema hub. If government forms a committee for this I’ll definitely go for giving the suggestions.

How are you going to save low budget movies?
A Low budget movie is facing problems in playing the movies in theaters. For this we are asking to make 4 to 5 shows and exclusively 4 ‘o clock show should be a low budget movie. If this is not followed government is going to take action. Everything should be made online, even small towns theaters should be made online where the government has already said yes for this.

Do we have truth behind industry shifting?
Every state needs the growth of industry even Andhra Pradesh is hoping the same. No need to change the industry. Now we can shoot movie anywhere as we got very good technology these days. We don’t have the restriction of audio release in a single place, we can release it anywhere. In olden days, we used to release in many areas like Vizag, Tirupathi and Vijayawada.

Are you going to join politics?
There are rumors saying that I’m going to join YSRCP in 2019, but there is no truth behind it. Because of today’s politics, I’m not interested in joining. They are making it as a business; it does not suit to a straight forward person like me. I have very close relationship with YS Raja Shekar Reddy garu. I know him from 1978, because of that Jagan came to meet me. Jagan is a public man who strives to achieve something really big. He will always have my support.

What are your comments about other language character artists?
Today’s movie contains many character artists from other languages. People think that if they get artists from other languages it will be a big project but this is not the right point. It’s a big mistake if we feel that we don’t have Telugu artists.  We should find the artists; only in rare cases, we should import the artists.

What is the reason behind working with Pawan Kalyan?
Pawan Kalyan is a person who has dedication and commitment in work. He will stand on his words. Such a person coming into politics is a really good thing and he told that he is going to stop acting in movies in a short span of time. In my opinion person with responsibilities should focus on a single thing.

Are you going start a newspaper?
I have an idea of starting a newspaper and also channel. I don’t have a team to start. 

What is the reason of decline in success rate?
The reason behind a decline in success rate is because of inexperienced producers. Prior, producer used to have a clear idea of everything inside the movie. Today’s producer does not even know what actually script is?
