Dasarth is well known for his films which are solely based on family values. Now he seems to be changing his path and trying his luck with his upcoming movie Shourya which is a romantic thriller. As part of the promotions for this film which is going to be released on 4th of March, earlier today he met with some journalists and shared his thoughts.

He said that he’s been trying to do an unconventional film for a long time and that dream has come true with Shourya. Here are some excerpts from the interview:

Tell us about the Manoj’s character in this film!
His character is of bipolar nature. It can’t be categorized as either good or bad. Manoj has played many diverse roles in his career and his image is going to help us. He’s playing the role of a software engineer. After Shri, I’ve teamed up with him after a very long period of 10 years. I haven’t noticed any change in his energy and dedication. This is a story which starts in village, travels places and ends in the same village.

Could you tell us the premise of the story?
Love is a question paper which varies for every individual. One’s paper can be of no help to the other. This is the concept we’ve worked upon. It is a story which revolves between two people within eleven months. It’s going to be a thrilling drama which deals with family relationships as well.

What do you think the highlights of the film are?
Story is the main highlight of the film. I can assure you that Telugu audiences have never watched this sort of film. There are no action sequences in the film. Prakash Raj and Regina’s characters have a high prominence in the film.

What is the reason behind directing a low budget film?
I wanted to finish this project in 45 days. My brother was with me and he used to work for TV serials and low budgeted films. For this film, I had the leverage to choose him as the music composer. After narrating the story to Siva Kumar sir, he liked it and accepted to produce it. Though the producer offered us a high budget, I’ve completed it in 51 days. I’ve seen many ups and downs in my career. I’ll always stay grounded and treat the success and failure the same way. There’s no hero in Telugu who wouldn’t listen to my narration. I’m content with my career.

How do you think the audiences will receive this film?
People of this generation are far matured and are expecting sensible films. Now it’s risk for us to do a conventional cinema. If the content is fresh and good, it’ll be a success for sure. I’ll narrate any story of mine to nearly 20 people in the Pre-Production stage to have their feedback. After shooting 80% of it, I’ll show it to them again. If they feel something’s wrong with it, I’ll even re shoot it.

What are your future plans?
Soon, I’ll direct a film with Prabhas. I’ll reveal the details when the time’s right.
