Movie Theaters across South India have been conducting strike and closed the theatres to protest against Digital Service providers from today. As the strike is going on successfully, Telangana Film Chamber of Commerce has conducted a press meet.

Addressing the event TFCC Chairman Pratani Rama Krishna told, from Friday all the theaters across Tamilnadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have been doing strike successfully by closing the theaters. My heartful thanks to all the distributors across the five states. Initially, we started fighting against the Digital Service providers for their charges. Now it is good that all the states have formed as a JAC and started protesting against their charges. Till the service providers will agree to our demands, we need to stand on our protest. Because of these charges many film producers were unable to release their movies and getting into huge losses. Cube, UFO and PXD should stop collecting their charges after five years based on the agreement or at least they should reduce the charges, or else if they cannot decrease the charges, please move out of us, new digital providers will step in and solve this issue.

TFCC secretary Sai Venkat told I thank everyone for supporting this strike. At least from now Digital Service providers should realize the situation and agree to our demands or else the theatre's strike will be continued.
