Government opts out of Nandi controversy

The recent Nandi Awards row is the latest unrest in Tollywood. Several directors and producers have voiced their opinion in public, questioning the criteria of selection. The controversy invited some big debates in the media, including several big producers and politicians. Finally, the issue steamed off the lid and reached the Cheif Minister, Mr.Chandra Babu Naidu. Mr.Naidu said that the government has no role in selecting the winners of the awards and that the Nandi award committee is solely responsible for the results. The chief minister also expressed his distress over the caste politics that were associated with the issue.
Directors Ram Gopal Varma, Guna Sekhar and producers Bandla Ganesh and Bunny Vaas are some of the popular celebs who are voicing their active voice on the issue.
