How this project initiated?

Cameraman Jawahar Reddy has introduced Ghanta Srinivasa Rao son, Ghanta Ravi to me. He has immense interest towards acting and he looks handsome too. I felt to work with him. Then, he took the acting course from Satyanand Master. He worked hard & passionately in the film.

What is the main storyline?

I’ve seen a Tamil superhit, “Sethupathi” and I liked a lot. The main essence is taken and molded the film according to Telugu nativity. Parchuri Brothers have developed an attractive script. It’s the story of a sincere police officer.

Many films based on police stories have come up, What is the newness in “Jayadev”?

Ya true. Those films move with a personal attachment in an individual view. But this is a story of the dedicated police officer, who saves the families of officers and others. It is natural & close to reality.

Can you brief Ghanta Ravi’s character?

He played as a powerful police officer in “Jayadev”. His positive points are highlighted. Ravi has given an extraordinary performance. Scenes are new. He is best suited for “Jayadev” character. His character will be moody & short tempered.

What about heroine role?

We are introducing, Malavika Raj who played a childhood role of Kareena Kapoor in “Kabhi Kushi Kabhi Gham” as a heroine in "Jayadev". She acted beautifully and both Ghanta Ravi & Malavika have long career run in the industry.

What about the key characters?

There is a surprise element in the film. Senior Bollywood actor, Vinod Kumar has played a terror filled villain role. He carried a new look and delivered an extraordinary performance. Hats off Vinod. You’ve already directed films with star actors.

What is the reason to work with a new hero?

Now, there is no preference to script except combination. I prefer a script that is flexible with all actors. We’ve introduced Prabhas as the hero with “Eshwar” and now, he became a top hero. I’m confident that Ghanta Ravi will also reach that level.

What about music?

Mani Sharma has composed beautiful melodious tunes. There are 5 songs where two songs were shot in Slovenia & Europe and remaining in Hyderabad. We’ve released four songs & they got the good response.

What is the reason for a long break after Teenmar?

I’m doing “Jayadev” after five years gap. It’s a right film in right time. It is mixed with commercial elements. This film has given me a chance to prove as a director once again after “Teenmar” and “Allari Pidugu.”

Can you describe the making style of Producer Ashok Kumar?

After I became Director, I did “Premante Edhera” and “Eshwar” in Ashok’s banner. Both were superhits. It’s the third film in our combination, “Jayadev” and will be a hat-trick hit.

When are you doing a film with Mahesh?

Mahesh has asked for a love story but a script is not yet finalized. If everything goes well, I’ll direct a good film.

Finally, any plans to work with Prabhas again?

Yes. I’ll be in regularly touch with Prabhas. There is no change in him from “Eshwar” to now. Definitely, I’ll do a film with him.
