Why wasn’t the release simultaneous in Telugu and Tamil?

Getting a film censored has become a daunting task since the censor office has been shifted to Mumbai. Getting a censor certificate is like getting a degree certificate. Also, It’s hard to find slots that don’t effect other big releases.

What do you think about Mersal (Adirindi) controversy?

After a film has been censored by the censor board, no further trimming should be allowed. If every political party goes on making claims and cutting down the film, nothing will be left except the censor certificate.

What’s your role in the fight against piracy?

It’s very interesting to fight against piracy and I’m confident that some this will end.

Why did you choose to play a villain?

I had a longing desire to play a negative role and It’s fulfilled with Mr.Mohanlal’s ‘Villian’. He can express a lot with just his eyes and It’s really hard working with such an ace actor. I acted without showing my professional insecurity as an intense bad guy. This film will be release in Telugu and Tamil languages in December.

When will you be making a straight Telugu film?

Soon, If I get an interesting script, I’m willing to do a straight Telugu film.

How is GST effecting films?

We are planning to conclude terms with the central government. When a union of Hoteliers sat down with the central government recently, the GST was cut down to 12 percent. We are aiming at similar results too.

When will you enter direct politics?

I’m currently happy with making films both professionally and financially. An MLA earns 2 lakhs per month as a salary. If power is the only way through which I can serve people, that day, I shall enter politics.
