Film Industry Tribute to Dasari Narayan Rao

Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with Telugu Film Federation of India organised a tribute for late Darasri Narayana Rao on Saturday, 10 June 2017. The event was conducted at Ramanaidu Kala Mandapam, Hyderabad.

Representing The Film Chamber of Commerce were Producers Suresh Babu and Damodar Rao. The F.N.C.C was represented by K.S. Rama Rao and the Telugu Film Union by Dora, Komara Venkatesh. Also present at the event were the director of The Film Nagar Housing Society Kaja Narayan Rao. Along with the above mentioned dignitaries, Chiranjeevi and M.P Ganta Srinivar Rao were also present to pay tribute to the veteran writer, producer and director.

The who’s who of the industry gathered at the tribute shared recollected stories and memories of the dearly departed. Chiranjivi said he regrets not meeting him for one last time as Dasari Narayana Rao was hospitalised overseas. He recounted his last conversation with him which included inquiries about Khaidi No 150.

Speaking to the audience present at the meet, Suresh Babu mentioned Dasari Narayana Rao’s dedication to the Telugu film industry as a writer, director and producer and that his valuable contribution of one hundred and fifty one films will never be forgotten.

Allu Arvind, Paruchuri Venkateshwara Rao said he was the known as the most social and approachable celebrities and that it a great loss for the industry. Everyone present at the meet agreed that a request for Dada Saheb Phalke award should be sent to the Government India to mark the importance of his work and sacrifices to the art of cinema.
