Divorced - Rajinikanth's daughter Soundarya and Ashwin Ramkumar part ways

After 6 years of marriage and over a year of family turmoil, Soundarya Rajnikanth and Ashwin get an official divorce from a local family court in Chennai. This was a long time coming as the couple was seen distant from each other during film promotions and other social events. Soundarya has been posting pictures of their son Ved (1-year-old) and other family members but Ashwin was mostly left out of the frame. She tweeted last year saying “News about my marriage is true. We have been separated for over a year & divorce talks are on. I request all to respect my family’s privacy”.

Superstar Rajinikanth himself tried to mend the bond between the couple but couldn’t convince the two. He even stayed at his daughter’s place for a few weeks but the couple has decided to part ways after 6 years of marriage.
