Being the man who made interesting films like Pellaina Kotthalo, Gundae Jaari Gallanthayyindhae, and Pravarakhyudu, Madan is no new name to the Telugu audience. After a brief lapse, he’s now coming with his new film, Garam. With the release scheduled on February 12th, he met the media as part of the promotions.

Reason behind the delay?
We’ve started the film in the month of August in 2014. Nevertheless, due to unforeseen events like Aadhi’s marriage and family issues, the shoot has been postponed then. Adding to this, I’ve lost one of my close friends and it took me a great deal of time to come out of the depression. These are the only reasons for the delay.

The dialogue which made Garam possible!
Srinivas Gavireddy has worked as my assistant director for a couple of years. He narrated me this concept to me in 2012. Since then we’re weaving the story around it. It’s a kind of film which is solely based on the screenplay. Initially I wasn’t completely clear about the characterization of the protagonist. Without that clarity, we can’t proceed with the shoot. Just before the shoot, I’ve written a dialogue which says, “'సచ్చేదాకా సవాలక్ష ప్రాబ్లమ్స్ ఉంటాయి.. అలా అనితినడం మానేస్తామా..? తొంగోడం మానేస్తామా..? అలానే ప్రేమించడం కూడా మానలేం.”  This specific dialogue shed light on me and made me confident about the project.

Reason behind the title, Garam?
The word Garam indicates anger. This film deals with a conflict within a family which makes the protagonist transform into a serious person. This made us settle on the title. Furthermore, we also thought that this title would reach all sections of the audience.

How is it working with Aadi?
Aadi is the backbone of this project. He knows nothing beyond cinema. His diligence and dedication are the primal reasons behind the completion of this film. His trust in the subject made us work even more. He played his role with a great ease.
How is Garam different from your earlier ones?
All my previous films are based on relationships. Even this one is no exception to that. Every spectator who enters the theatre trusting me is not going to be disappointed for sure.

A few words about the audio!
I usually work with Keeravani sir. For this film, it wasn’t possible as the shoot was delayed and we weren’t able to get his call sheets. So we’ve opted for Agasthya who has worked with me for Pellaina Kotthalo and also is a good friend of mine. He has delivered a great output.

About your tough times!
After the release of Pravaraakhyudu in 2009, I’ve started my own business but it didn’t work well. There were times when I thought of quitting the film industry. Telangana revolts have been started the very next day of the release ofPravaraakhyudu. All the theaters in the Nizam area were shut off. However, the film did well in the Andhra region and managed to complete 50 days. Later, many people watched it in Youtube and liked it too.

About the producer
I think I’ll never find a producer like him. He’s given me everything I’ve needed. He let me in a zone where I could do anything at my will with no restrictions.

Aren’t you going to do any content based films hereafter?
Films with unique content will always be well received. A film will be successful for sure if it deals about the contemporary conditions. I’ll try my best to deliver those sorts of films in future.

About Recognition
During my initial days, I used to worry about not attaining the recognition which I thought I deserved. Later, I’ve stopped mourning about it. People will definitely recognize our work if we do it on a sincere note. If not, there’s something wrong with us but not the audience.
