“Digital Platforms are Killing cinema” - D.Suresh Babu

Mr.Daggubati Suresh Babu, a renowned producer and son of Movie Moghul Mr.Ramanaidu spitfire on the digital platforms for killing cinema. The producer said that digital platforms like Netflix, Amazon and Jio are killing the custom of traditional movie viewing experience. He said that since new movies are televised within a gap of 4 weeks, the audience doesn’t feel compelled to watch the film in theatres. Mr.Suresh Babu analysed that back in the day, films would be televised after a year but the gap has been reducing gradually.

Mr.Suresh Babu also added that the theatre owners must cater to all the needs of an audience and not rent out particular parts of the theatre. This point was brought up in retaliation to Qube and UFO, the distribution and in - cinema advertising platforms that run their own model of projecting the film in theatres. Also, the producer added that the trailers of the must be screened during the interval and not advertisements.
