“Budget is not my concern” - Praveen Sattaru

Rajasekhar’s action entertainer Garuda Vega is releasing this Friday and director Praveen Sattaru shared all the work that went behind making the film in the interview below…

How did the film come to be?

I draw inspiration from Bollywood flicks. I wrote this story in 2006 and wanted Mr.Rajasekhar to play the lead. Though we considered Magadu as the initial title, I think PSV Garuda Vega is apt for the flick.

What changes were made in the script?

Initially, the hero was a C.I but according to the modern times, The hero in this film will be working for the NIA (National Intelligence Agency)

How was it making an action film for the first time?

I feel really good and shooting the action sequences was just thrilling. I look forward to making moe action films and work with top technicians.

You think this budget can be justified with Rajasekhar?

Everybody is asking the same question and I don’t understand why. Arjun Reddy was made with a 4 crore budget by a debut director and the film collected 30 crores. There’s no connection between a film’s budget and its result

So are you not concerned with the budget?

No, Budget is not my concern. I only care about the story and if I try my best to justify every bit it.

How’s the response for Sunny Leone’s character?

We approached Sunny Leone for a special attraction in the film and she will receive a good applause after the release.
