Rajasekhar’s ambitious comeback film Garuda Vega 126.18M is the latest buzz among Tollywood. This is to be highest the budget film in Rajashekhar’s career and is built on high technical values. The film is directed by Praveen Sattaru of ‘Chandamama Kathalu’ fame and the director celebrates his birthday today.

What is the plot for Garuda Vega?

When the news is simplified to a bomb being detected or diffused we tend to leave it at that, but there is a huge network of influential people plotting behind it. N.I.A is one of the organizations that prevent such harm from happening and P.V.S Garuda Vega is the story of an ambitious NIA officer. Though I made the script in 2006, Due to N.I.A’s formation in 2008, I had to rework and make changes.

What is Rajasekhar’s character?

N.I.A was formed after the 2008 Mumbai bomb blasts. Rajasekhar is an N.I.A officer in the film and the story revolves around his personal and professional hurdles and how he chose to overcome them.

How did you choose Pooja Kumar for the female role?

Her performance in Vishwaroopam and Uttama Villian was top notch and according to my script, I thought she is apt for playing mother of a 6-year-old.

Why did you want to work with Mr. Rajasekhar?

After the success of Guntur Talkies, Jevita and Rajasekhar approached me for collaboration. I loved Mr.Rajasekhar’s characterization in ‘Magadu’ and wanted to repeat the action. So when i suggested him that my script is apt for his role, He approved the proposal. The film will be loved by a wide range of audience.

How was Kishore as the villain?

I had good relations with Mr.Kishore. The story’s antagonist demands to be a cold blooded criminal. Even though we went through other choices, Mr.Kishore seemed perfect for his intensity in the eyes. He did justice for the role.

Weren’t you worried about the budget?

When a producer is investing 25 crores on my idea, I was definitely worried. After the first schedule, The producers gained confidence and granted me the freedom to enhance the scale in term of production. Besides, many high budget films in the recent times also proved that you can get back the profits if you can win the audience.

Do you continue making high budget flicks?

Not necessarily. My next film’s budget may even be 3 crores! Tell us about Pullela Gopichand’s Biopic Gopichand’s journey is extraordinary. His story is packed with more drama than in a film. It took me 2 and a half years to finish the script and finally, Sudheer babu is getting into shape to play the role. The film is produced by Jyostar enterprises and presented by Shivan Shivathmika movies and is set to release this summer.
