Bhanumati will make you Fidaa - Shekhar Kammula

Sekhar Kammula is working his magic again on the big screen with his upcoming love - entertainer Fidaa. Starring Varun Tej and Sai Pallavi in lead roles, The film is produced by Dil Raju under Sri Venkateswara Cine Creations. The director shared his thoughts about the film.

Looks like you are coming back with a pure love story?

True.I’ve been longing to make a love story and thus came Fidaa. When I thought about the backdrop, The first thing that came to my mind was rural Telangana. The story is about a native Telangana girl and a medic from the U.S.

Weren’t you looking to cast a star actor for the role?

Yes, I did. I sat with some stars for the narration too but though Varun would be apt for the role. His features were just perfect for the story and nobody would’ve done this better than him. I’m sure it’ll be a big hit in Varun’s career.

Who choice was it, to cast Sai Pallavi?

The heroine plays a pivotal role in the film. We needed a natural beauty with a strong voice.All the team has anonymously voted for Sai Pallavi. Her Telangana slang was on point and her character on screen will make every woman proud.

How was it working with Mr.Dil Raju?

Both of us work in different environments. He plans his work ahead and I just work on the sets with my team. Once the script was locked, He didn’t interfere anywhere in the process and gave us great freedom.

How is this film different from other love stories?

This film breaks all stereotypes. The characters and relationships go beyond sisters and brothers and is very refreshing. I can say with certainty that no such film has come out in the recent times When will you venture into Commercial Cinema? If star heroes share my mindset, A new wave of films will start coming out. I think stars should give up their image and start doing new age stories. This will start to change the audience too.

How confident are you about Fidaa?

I’ve seen the film 4 times and am happy with the product. This movie feels like a breath of fresh air amidst the polluted fog of commercial cinema. I’m damn sure the film will be a box office hit for sure. The film is set to hit the theaters this Friday, On July 21st.
