Audience Will Enjoy Like Me Watching Rajinikanth’s Darbar - Star Director AR Murugadoss

AR Murugadoss, who achieved huge success with films like Ghajini, Stalin, 7th Sense, Kathi, Sarkar. Superstar Rajinikanth starred in a commercial film Darbar directed by him. Subash Karan is producing the film under the banner of Lyka Productions. On the occasion of the movie release on 9th January, AR Murugadoss spoke to media.

How did you feel when a star hero like Rajinikanth has waited 15 years for you?

After my film Ghajini got successful, he called me home. Then he spoke normally. A year later, he called me and asked to plan a film. I said okay. However, it was at the time that I had to remake Ghajini in Hindi. After that I did 7th sense film with Suriya. Also, Rajinikanth is busy with movies. He called me one and half year ago and said that this time the film should definitely be done. I decided not to miss this chance and prepared the story. Once the matter was known to everyone, they called and congratulated me. I prepared the script.

How did you feel directing Rajinikanth?

When I was a kid and watching movie with my mom, I used to think that Rajinikanth was in the theater. And then when we moved from there to our neighbours house, why Rajinikanth is here and in our hometown too ? Thought. Then my elder sister told me about the films. While working as an assistant director, I saw him at the Mannan film shooting.  

What kind of message does this movie have?

This is  a police story in Mumbai backdrop. One Incident, which is a recent one, will be connected to our film. Even a large commercial film has a small message, it will reach to the public.

Memorable issue happened with Rajinikanth in shooting?

Everyday is an indelible memory. For example, we had to shoot a scene and its raining. Even after three days, the rain did not stop. Rajinikanth sir completed the shooting in the rain. Even he is the biggest star, Rajinikanth co-operated with the shooting in the rain.

How did you feel working with Lyka after Kathi?

 Subhash Karan Mobile Company and SIM cards are spread across 25 countries. The head office will be in London. There are 5000 people working there.  

How did it feel to work with Nayantara?

After many years, I worked with her. Rajini sir and Nayantara are only a few years old. Anirudh has made some amazing music. Background score is extraordinary. We have locked the film final look two days ago.

What's your next movie?

I have not yet decided which film I will do. I will let you know after this movie release.

When will you do a straight Telugu film?

I will do. Now I am doing Tamil hero based films. Some thing is missing in Telugu heroes. 

There are news spreading that you will do a movie with Bunny?

At present, the movie is under discussion. I couldn’t say now.
