Dil Raju’s" Krishnaastami" is all set to be released on February 19. As part of the film’s promotions lead actress, Nikki Galrani met with a few journalists to share some details about her life.

How did you bag this role?
I’ve got a call from Dil Raju sir’s office when I was in Kerala for a shoot. They’ve asked my dates which I’ve lent to a Malayalam film earlier. As per the Malayalam industry rules, one shouldn’t work on two projects at a time. So I couldn’t adjust my dates and I thought I’m not going to be a part of this project. Later, Dil Raju sir called me up and said they’re doing the pre-production work and it takes a month to start the shoot. I told him that I’m in.

Describe your role in the film?
I’ve played an NRI girl called Pallavi in this film. She’s a writer who keeps writing a book called Pallavisam. Though she’s an innocent girl, her thoughts in the book seem to be logical. Her only ambition is to publish the book. She believes that there is a solution to any problem. She tries to solve her problems by being positive.

How is it working with Sunil?
Sunil is a sweet and humble individual. I’ve learned a lot from him. He’s a dedicated person. He used to wake up in the early hours while shooting abroad in the freezing temperatures to go on a jog.

What sorts of roles are you interested in performing?
I hate playing the roles which are meant to appear only in the songs and some scenes. My character should have prominence in the film. It should have a scope for me to perform. I can’t restrict myself to the glamorous roles. I look for the characters which go through a transformation at some point of the time.

Can you brief about Director?
I used to think that I’m very patient but after working with Vasu sir, I’ve changed my opinion. He never loses his cool come what may.

What did you observe in the films from the three languages you’ve acted?
I’ve acted in Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam languages but I can’t categorize them. Irrespective of the languages, my work is the same. However, Malayalam movies are close to our lives. Tamil ones are close to reality. Telugu movies are more commercial.

What is your opinion on skin show?
One should be able to watch my films with his/her family with no inhibitions. In my opinion, glamor is not all about the skin show. A girl can look glamorous even in a saree.

Who helps you in finalizing the scripts?
Once I listen to a story, I discuss it with my family. My sister will always be there to clarify my doubts. She’s like a mother to me. She’ll be the happiest person in the world if I succeed.

What are your future projects?

I’m acting in three films in Tamil. I’m also being offered roles in Telugu.
