A film which is close to my heart - Bhimaneni Srinivasa Rao

Having directed sensational films like Subhaakankshalu, Suswaagatham, and Suryavamsam, Bhimaneni is a no new name to the Telugu audience. After his last venture Sudigaadu, he took quite a long time to work on a single script and now has come with Speedunnodu. With the release ahead, he found some time to share his experiences with us.  

This film is close to my heart!
After watching Sundarapandiyan, I've decided to get it remade in Telugu for its intense content. After Suswaagatham, Suryavamsam, and Subhaakankshalu, this film is something which is so close to my heart. In the Tamil version, the story was narrated in a natural manner. As our Telugu audience usually don't opt for such plain narratives, we've added some extra comic and emotional aspects to make it commercially viable.  

The core is intact!
Every story has a core and intent. After acquiring the Telugu rights for the film, I've spent quite a time on the script to make the aforementioned changes but always made sure that the core of it is maintained intact.  

My journey with Vasanth!
All my films were musically successful. Earlier, for Sudigaadu I've worked with the music director Vasanth. I felt pretty comfortable working with him. So I had him signed up for this film. We've been travelling since the past 3 years. He has composed each and every track with utmost care. Finally, his diligence got paid with the audiences' response.  

About Bellamkonda Srinvas
To be honest, Srinivas wasn't my first option. I've approached Ravi Teja, Sunil and a few other actors but couldn't cut the deal for reasons like remuneration and dates adjustment. Then, I've happened to watch Alludu Seenu and instantly loved Srinivases' performance and energy. Though he's one film old, he has been a great asset to the film. He's blessed with the charisma of a commercial hero. He is going to woo the audience for sure.  

A unique perspective!
Many films which are based on the concept of friendship were made in Telugu. Nonetheless, this movie stands apart. We've approached it with a unique perspective which none has ever dealt with. It's a story about a reunion of 5 friends after 5 years because of a girl and the conflicts they're bound to resolve.  

Being a producer
I've entered this industry with a passion to direct films but not to be a producer. However, some situations forced me to do so. I felt that it's time to prove myself. Some producers were reluctant to handle the project as they're not sure about the adaptation. This made me take up the project into my own hands and I've turned as a producer too. I wanted to bear all the risk involved with the film's result.  

I'm an addict!
When someone asks me why I always work on remake scripts, my answer is, "I'm addicted to them." I want to do a straight film in Telugu but I will wait till I prove myself in another dimension.  

It's a special number!
We've invested huge sums of money in each and every song in the album. The Tamanna featuring item number was made with an amount of Rs.2 crores. I wanted the song to have a special place in the history of item songs. I'd rather call it a special song. Tamanna was very excited after watching the output.  

No sequel to Sudigaadu!
I never thought of making a sequel to the film Sudigaadu.   
He ended the interview saying that he never thinks about a new project while working on one.
