‘70 crores will be evident on screen’ - Hanu Raghavapudi

After creating his own set of audience for his fresh outlook with Andala Rakshasi and Krishna Gaadi Veera Prema Gadha, Director Hanu Raghavapudi is rolling out another gem with LIE. The director claims it as a stylish action entertainer and more thoughts as follows

What is the plot line for LIE?

LIE is a love action entertainer. I don’t think no film can exclude love, It’s just that the spans changes according to the story.

You seem to have designed the antagonist with special care

An idea about the antagonist of this film has been lingering in my head since long and I usually spend more time designing the antagonist. I’ve had ample time with me between Andala Rakshasi and Krishna Gadi vera…. And this is when the idea of LIE popped in my head.Since Nithiin wanted to work with me since long, I pitched the idea to him and he quickly agreed. What’s the reason behind shooting the whole film in the U.S?

India has got some beautiful locations too but as per the store’s criteria, We had to shoot in the U.S. The shot making will be very different.

Isn’t it a huge budget?

Abiding by the story and Nitin’s market value, We had to shoot it in a certain budget. Thanks to Anil’s planning, when you see the film on screen, you’ll see the lavish production cost of 70 crores. The producers have granted me complete freedom and this too shows on the screen.

Tell us about Mr.Arjun

I really admire Mr.Arjun and I’m not exaggerating when I say that I’ve seen all of his films. I thought he would be apt for the role and have designed it with elements of style and mystery.

What are your future projects?

I’m planning a film with an army backdrop with Nani. Since the movie is set in Ladakh, It’s impossible to shoot till next May. Meanwhile, As Nani is completely immersed in his back to back films, I’ll try to bring out another film as well. I’ll announce more details on this soon.
