We were told that 'Yuddham Sharanam' is a crime-thriller that would present a twist every few minutes. Srikanth's character was hyped-up to the point that the audience could be forgiven for thinking that Telugu cinema has suddenly got a new-age villain. The pitfalls of over-hyping aside, this film proves that snazzy background music and a superficial grittiness can't sell a worn-out story line.

May be, Naga Chaitanya was asked to keep a light-touch expression for some eerie reason. Nothing else explains the lack of agony on his face. In his first scene, he narrates his plight (the parents are missing) in a 'Saahasam Swasaga Sagipo' mode. The intensity palpable in his voice never makes a comeback for the rest of the film.

Srikanth definitely has an over-rated role and delivers an underwhelming performance. Harika Vedula and Seema Chowdary as Chaitu's sisters make their presence felt.

Roles like these are a cakewalk for Naga Chaitanya. The look he sports in this movie looked damn good & his performance is satisfactory. Lavanya Tripathi looks gorgeous but she doesn't get much scope to perform.

Srikanth has given a sincere performance. He, however, wasn't able to create big impact as the role wasn't etched properly. Revathi & Rao Ramesh have done complete justice to their roles. The role played by Murali Sharma is funny. Priyadarsi is just okay.

First Half of 'Yuddham Sharanam' is passable with good family emotions, decent love story & couple of nice songs. The Film shifts to action mode in Second Half and losses the track completely. Lack of any thrilling elements during the battle between Hero & Villain play the spoilsport.

Based on the story by David Nathan, who earlier wrote Nani starrer “Gentleman”, Naga Chaitanya and Lavanya starrer “Yuddham Sharanam” begins on an interesting note but it in no time, it slumbers into regular mode. By the time movie reaches the interval bang, it is pretty clear that the story line is routine.

On the whole, Naga Chaitanya's "Yuddham Sharanam" is quite boring and routine despite technical gloss. It may not appeal to any section of audiences.

Naga Chaitanya gives a neat and dignified performance. He suits the character of an ordinary youth well. However, there is nothing that is novel to challenge him as an actor. Srikanth's makeover as the villain is impressive.

Srikanth's makeover as the villain is impressive. However, his character is poorly written which is why he couldn't make an impact.

On a whole, Yuddham Sharanam is a badly made action film that is neither exciting nor entertaining. The slow paced narration, clumsy writing, and weak characters make you look for the nearest exit. It is a total dud from Naga Chaitanya and co.

Chai Akkineni as Arjun is superb and he is at ease in his character. He is good in action sequences and looks handsome throughout the movie. Lavanya Tripathi performed nice and looks gorgeous. She has maintained good chemistry with Chai Akkineni in love sequences. Srikanth Meka who is the main protagonist of this movie called Nayak is terrific. Director Krishna has done

Director Krishna has done a pretty average job in directing his debut movie. He could have taken a better care for the movie even in scripting stages to make it racy. To sum up, Yuddham Sharanam is a disappointing fare.

The first half of the film is pretty good as the family emotions are established quite well. Rao Ramesh and Revathi perform extremely well in their roles bringing a lot of depth to the proceedings. Naga Chaitanya and Lavanya’s chemistry also works fine for most of the time.Srikanth looks menacing as Nayak and tries his best to elevate the proceedings.

Yuddham Saranam has some very good visuals. The camera work is delightful and nicely showcases all the emotions and locations quite well. Music by Vivek Sagar is strictly okay as the songs only come in the narrative.

On the whole, Yuddham Sharanam is a film which starts off on a positive note but fizzes out during the later part. Superb family emotions during the first half keep the audience hooked. But as in all the recent Telugu films, director Krishna too looses grip on the second half and ends things in an unconvincing manner.
