For masses

First half of the film is nice. Second half should have been better. Plus points of the films are primary cast, entertainment and sentiment. On the flipside, the film gives deja vu feeling. Screenplay and climax should have been better. On a whole, Winner is aimed at mass audiences.

Not a 'Winner' at all!

From start to finish, 'Winner' doesn't deviate from the age old formula audience had seen in countless films. The only difference here is the horse racing backdrop but the impact was missing due to terrible execution. Scenes of Hero's preparation for horse race looks outright silly. Even the crucial Climax sequence wasn't executed well. First Half of 'Winner' is partly entertaining. It's the Second Half which tests the patience of the viewers to the fullest.

Formulaic entertainer

On the whole, Winner is a typical commercial entertainer which has some good moments throughout the first half. A very good plot is diluted after half time by some below average execution. It will be very interesting to see how this film performs during this crunch exam season. There is nothing new that you have not seen before in Winner but Tej’s standout performance and some good comedy make this film an okay watch this weekend.

Lost The Race

Starting from the very beginning of the story, the treatment is quite routine and mass-oriented. The first twenty minutes post interval makes an interesting watch. But it drifts again into routine with silly comedy track involving Ali. And the climax sequence is laughable. "Winner" is so hackneyed but delivers what it promises in its theatrical trailer - a film for B and C Center audiences.

Too weak to be a winner

Unfortunately, Gopichand Malineni didn't have the vision to give it a nail-biting finish. All in all, Winner is a film that relies heavily upon the elements that please the B and C center audience. Its box office run will depend upon how they respond to it.

Formula trumps sentiment

'Winner', made to a done-to-death template, works due to some comedy moments here and there. Tej takes up a tough role. Gopichand Malineni's treatment falls short of expectations.

Sai Dharam Tej Entertains But Screenplay Disappoints

Movie begins with a nice emotional tale of father and son and their bonding. This half runs in a hilarious way with Prudhvi as SIgham Sujatha and Vennela Kishore who makes audience glued to screen with their mannerisms. There comes a point where audience get more excited about how the director is gonna clear the conflicts in second half with the predictable yet interesting interval bang. Second half begins with the excitement of first half and disappoints audience in every way possible except for Ali’s sequences. Director could have taken better care in writing screenplay for this half and solving conflicts. To sumup. WInner is not a full meal as promised by the team for this Maha Siva Rathri.

Winner falls short of expectations

Winner fails to match up to certain expectations. Mind you, Sai Dharam Tej’s on-screen performance is good, but there are too many illogical scenes.
