A hero or heroine getting short-term memory loss or brief amnesia after a minor accident is not at all new. It has been attempted in several movies in several genres.

Director Karunakaran takes the same theme for his latest romantic drama “Tej I Love You” and to make it “different”, he has added his own brand of romantic episodes, family sentiments and teasing scenes.

Lousy screenplay and bad direction have made this film a boring affair. It is high time that actor Sai Dharam Tej rethinks about the choice of scripts he is selected.

All in all, “Tej I Love You” is an outdated romantic drama that tests the patience to the maximum. It lacks fresh ideas.

తేజ్ ఐ లవ్యూ.. ఫీల్ లేని ప్రేమకథ

వరుస ఫ్లాపులతో సతమతమవుతున్న మెగాస్టార్ మేనల్లుడు సాయిధరమ్ తేజ్ నటించిన కొత్త సినిమా ‘తేజ్ ఐ లవ్యూ’. ఇన్నాళ్లూ మాస్ కథలే ట్రై చేసిన తేజు.. తొలిసారిగా పూర్తి స్థాయి ప్రేమకథలో నటించిన సినిమా ఇది.

తొలిసారి చూస్తే కొత్తగా అనిపించే ఏ విషయమైనా.. మళ్లీ మళ్లీ చూస్తే మొహం మొత్తుతుంది. ఎ.కరుణాకరన్ తీసిన ‘తొలి ప్రేమ’.. ‘ఉల్లాసంగా ఉత్సాహంగా’.. ‘డార్లింగ్’ లాంటి సినిమాల్లో అప్పటికి కొత్తగా.. మనసుకు హత్తుకునేలా కనిపించిన చాలా అంశాలు ఇప్పుడు.. ‘తేజ్ ఐ లవ్యూ’లో చూస్తుంటే చాలా అసహనాన్ని కలిగిస్తాయి. ఇందులోని లవ్ స్టోరీ కావచ్చు.. కామెడీ సీన్స్ కావచ్చు.. ఫ్యామిలీ ఎమోషన్లు కావచ్చు.. పదే పదే కరుణాకరన్ ఒకప్పటి సినిమాల్ని తలపిస్తూనే ఉంటాయి. కానీ ఆ సినిమాల్లో ప్రేమకథలు చూస్తున్నపుడు ఉన్న ఫీల్ ఇక్కడ కనిపించదు. వాటిలో మాదిరి కామెడీ కూడా పండలేదు.

We Cannot Love You

Sai Dharam Tej did an okay job as a lover boy. This is definitely not his comfort zone but managed to put up a decent show. He needs to work on his expressions in emotional scenes though. Also, he has put on a lot of weight, which is not a good sign for a young actor. Anupama did well in teasing as well as emotional scenes.

Karunakaran's ideas and direction still remain to be stuck in the nineties. Many scenes in Tej are either rewritten or inspired from his previous films.

So Sai Dharam Tej's search for a hit will still be on as Tej also is likely to end up as box office debacle. He should make wise choices and make them quickly as he is on the verge of losing the audience's trust with a series of bad films.

స్లోగా ఉండే రొటీన్ ప్రేమ కథ

సుప్రీమ్‌ హీరో సాయిధరమ్‌ తేజ్‌ హీరోగా, అనుపమ పరమేశ్వరన్‌ హీరోయిన్‌గా క్రియేటివ్‌ కమర్షియల్స్‌ మూవీ మేకర్స్‌ బ్యానర్ పై ఏ.కరుణాకరన్‌ దర్శకత్వంలో కె.ఎస్‌.రామారావు నిర్మంచిన చిత్రం ‘తేజ్‌’. ఐ లవ్‌ యు అనేది ఉపశీర్షిక.

హీరో సాయి ధరమ్ తేజ్ ఎప్పటి లాగే తన ఎనర్జిటిక్ పెర్‌ఫార్మెన్స్ ఆకట్టుకున్నాడు. అతని లుక్స్ కూడా బాగున్నాయి. ఇక హీరోయిన్ గా చేసిన అనుపమ పరమేశ్వరన్‌ కూడా ప్రతి ఫ్రేమ్ లోను అందంగా కనిపిస్తూ అలరించింది.

గతం మర్చిపోయిన ప్రియురాలు తన ప్రియుడుని మళ్ళీ ఎలా కలుసుకుంది లాంటి మంచి పాయింట్ ఉన్నా, దర్శకుడు కరుణాకరన్‌ సరిగ్గా ఆ పాయింట్ ను వాడుకోలేకపోయాడు. కొంతవరకు ఆయన చెప్పాలనుకున్న ప్రేమకథ బాగున్నా దాన్ని స్క్రీన్ మీద ప్రేక్షకుడ్ని పూర్తిస్థాయిలో సంతృప్తిపరిచే విధంగా తెరకెక్కించలేకపోయారు.

దర్శకుడు ఎ.కరుణాకరన్‌ తన శైలిలో అందమైన, ఆహ్లాదకరమైన ప్రేమ కథను తెరకెక్కించబోయి విఫలమయ్యారు. ప్రేమ జంట మధ్య ప్రేమ రొమాన్స్ లోపించడం, వాటికి తోడు నెమ్మదిగా సాగే కథా కథనాలు, చాలా సన్నివేశాలు మరీ నాటకీయంగా ఉండటంతో ఈ సినిమా సగటు ప్రేక్షకుడ్ని కూడా ఆకట్టుకోదు. మొత్తం మీద ‘తేజ్‌’. ఐ లవ్‌ యు చిత్రం సంతృప్తి కరంగా లేదనే చెప్పాలి

Sai Dharam Tej is one such actor who got introduced from Mega family. At the beginning of his career, he has entertained the audience with some entertaining films and has been disappointing audience with bad films. He is in desperate need of a hit and is coming with a love story under the direction of Karunakaran in the name of “Tej I Love You”.

Tej I love you is a story of a guy who tries to get back the memory of his loved one. This has been told in a very outdated, cliched and boring way. Director Karunakaran has done a very bad job with this movie. He had failed at a very beginning stage i.e. scripting. Had he been done more work in fine-tuning the script, the result of the movie could have been much better. He seems to have addicted to memory loss stories. His every movie except for one or two have the same concept of female lead losing her memory. He failed to do justice to this film and he failed to extract nice output from his crew. Coming to Sai Dharam Tej, who was once a promising hero has been suffering from continuous duds.

Sai Dharam Tej and Anupama as Nandini try to induce some energy into an unimaginative script, but both look lost and, in some frames, disinterested. Transitioning from a smart alec, chirpy woman to one with a mission, and caught between her father and Tej, Anupama gets enough screen time to show her mettle. But in a yawn-inducing film, nothing stands out.

Gopi Sunder’s music, the cinematography, the inane comedy involving Viva Harsha and Praveen all add to the boring quotient. The only actor who holds some attention is Anish Kuruvilla, by managing to look mean and calculating as the story demands him to be.
