AR Murugadoss and Thalapathy Vijay’s Sarkar has been one of the most highly anticipated and spoken about films recently. Be it for the controversies it got embroiled in or for Thalapathy’s massive fan base.

AR Murugadoss’ direction is not flawless but it’s not disappointing, too. Certain scenes will keep you on the edge of your seats. The director has made sure that audience can connect with it and has made it quite relatable to the current political scenario of Tamil Nadu.

Sarkar is one of Vijay’s best films so far and a clear blockbuster. AR Murugadoss’ direction, Jeyamohan’s writing and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar’s perfect antagonist avatar make this film a must watch.

Sundar (Vijay) is the CEO of the world’s leading company GL. People call him a corporate monster as he has the powers to make or break companies across the globe.

Vijay is undoubtedly one of the finest actors and he has given his best performance in the film. His fights, dance, dialogue delivery are topnotch.

The story is very engaging. There is not even a single scene in the film which is boring. AR Murugadoss is a pro in handling the complex stories and he proved the same point again with this film.

Vijay is on top form as Sundar, even though the character doesn’t have too many larger than life moments.

The other characters in the film though are forgettable. The feeble attempt at a romance between Sundar and Nila (Keerthy Suresh) doesn’t get anywhere and offers no scope for Keerthy to perform.

The underlying message, strong performance by Vijay and also nods to several real-life incidents and people make Sarkar a smart and yet a bit stretched out.

AR Murugadoss has dared to challenge and question the existing systems and has tried to enlighten the people. The intent of the film-maker needs a special applause and he has embedded this socially relevant things nicely into the movie.

Thalapathy Vijay is in top form as the lead protagonist and he looked stylish in most of the frames.

Sarkar is not just a film meant for the fans to celebrate. It has a broader angle and the movie enlightens and envisions the people as well.

From scene one, Sarkar only belongs to superstar Vijay. He steals the show with his standout performance and is extremely good in all the emotional scenes.

The second half is where the film goes for a toss. Things become routine and Murugadoss showcases the set up which is quite common in every political film where an outsider tries to take on the mighty politicians and wins over them.

On the whole, Sarkar is a routine political thriller which runs on the screen presence and charisma of superstar Vijay.

Only For Hardcore Vijay Fans!

Vijay enthralled his fans thoroughly with his style, screen presence, dances and fights. He excelled in the crucial sequence of the subject but made few scenes look awkward with his over-the-top performance.

Music composed by AR Rahman is just okay. None of the songs have a repeat value. Background Score elevates the crucial scenes to a whole new level.

Vijay as Sundar is superb. He performed well in emotional sequences with superb intensity and his body language is an additional advantage. Keerthi Suresh doesn’t have much to perform but is good in the limited time.

Sarkar is a story of a citizen going against the power hungry and corrupted politicians. The story seems quite unique and has a lot of scope to be a blockbuster with a good screenplay.
