Lives upto its name

Sudheer Babu is growing as an actor with each film.  He is appreciable in this role of common guy falling in love with a movie star. Aditi who enthralled us all in Mani Ratnam’s ‘Cheliya’ looks perfect in her role. She has pulled off the role of a movie star with so much ease.  She impresses with her beauty as well as with her acting skills.

P G Vinda’s camerawork is a major asset to this romantic drama. Art work is also excellent.

It is a decent romantic tale of a movie star and a commoner that is clearly inspired by famous Hollywood movie “Notting Hill’.All in all, “Sammohanam” makes a decent watch with some good moments, lead pair’s chemistry and music.

సమ్మోహనం.. మెల్లగా మనసు దోచే ప్రేమకథ

గత సినిమాల్లో నటుడిగా సుధీర్ బాబులో కనిపించిన బలహీనతలు ఇందులో కొంతమేర కవరయ్యాయి. నటన ఓకే. ఐతే సుధీర్ కంటే కూడా హీరోయిన్ అదితి రావు హైదరి ఎక్కువ స్కోర్ చేస్తుంది. ఆమె కళ్లతో పలికించిన భావాలు కట్టిపడేస్తాయి.  హీరో హీరోయిన్ల తర్వాత బలమైన ముద్ర వేసేది నరేష్. క్యారెక్టర్ ఆర్టిస్టుగా ఆయన ఎప్పటికీ మరిచిపోలేని పాత్ర ఇది.

‘పెళ్ళిచూపులు’ ఫేమ్ వివేక్ సాగర్ మరోసారి ఫీల్ గుడ్ మ్యూజిక్ ఇచ్చాడు. ఇంద్రగంటి ఆస్థాన ఛాయాగ్రాహకుడు పి.జి.విందా ఆయన అభిరుచికి తగ్గట్లు పని చేశాడు. సినిమా అంతా కలర్ ఫుల్ గా కనిపిస్తుంది. ఇంద్రగంటి ఆస్థాన ఛాయాగ్రాహకుడు పి.జి.విందా ఆయన అభిరుచికి తగ్గట్లు పని చేశాడు. సినిమా అంతా కలర్ ఫుల్ గా కనిపిస్తుంది.

మొత్తంగా ‘సమ్మోహనం’ను ఒక పరిణతితో కూడిన ప్రేమకథగా చెప్పొచ్చు. నెమ్మదిగా సాగడం దీనికున్న పెద్ద బలహీనత. అలాగే మరీ క్లాస్ గా ఉండటం వల్ల ఓ వర్గం ప్రేక్షకులే దీనికి కనెక్టయ్యే అవకాశముంది. ప్రేమకథలో యువ ప్రేక్షకులు ఆశించే రొమాంటిక్ మూమెంట్స్.. ఎంటర్టైన్మెంట్ మిస్ కావడం కూడా ప్రతికూలతే.

Different and conversational

Sudheer Babu invents a new persona for himself with this film. He is equally authoritative in both emotional episodes and causal scenes. Aditi Rao Hydari plays the role of a film actress and she is authentic. She did show variations between the glamour side of moviestar and vulnerability of a soft-hearted woman who is struggling with a personal situation.

As Mohan Krishna keeps changing genres, you find each film to be different though there is his signature in conceiving comedy episodes and his own style in writing dialogues. Music by Vivek Sagar is very good. The songs of the film are soothing and melodious. Art direction by Ravinder is another notable aspect of the film. Editing by Marthand K Venkatesh is good. Production values are good.

On a whole, Sammohanam is a different love story sprinkled with comedy and you may watch it if you excuse slow narration!

Equal doses of fun and emotions

Aditi and Sudheer have elevated the love track to a whole new level.

The director, Mohan Krishna Indraganti has opted for a very sensible love story and narrated it at his own pace.The camera work is clap worthy as the rich locales of Manali have been captured brilliantly. The music album runs with the narrative and songs have been executed well on screen. The production values of the movie are really good as every scene looks rich and vibrant.

On the whole, Sammohanam is a simple love story that has been showcased in an engaging manner. Beautiful emotions, sparkling chemistry between the lead pair are major assets.

The flashes of brilliance are overshadowed by a predictable storyline and by the time the climax is over, the only feeling you're left with is one of disappointment.
