All in all, appreciation to Gunasekhar goes for the fact that through the movie he tries to bring rich history of Telugu land on to the screen. Other than this fact, the movie has more demerits than the merits. The movie is only for people who want to know how Rudrama Devi ruled in the guise of a male.

Watch it for Gona Ganna Reddy!

First Half of 'Rudramadevi' gives a nice feeling with fabulous introduction sequence of Gona Ganna Reddy. Of course, The Romantic Track of Rana and Anushka fail to hit the right chord. Screenplay in Second Half and Lethargic Pace act as spoilers. On a whole, Gunasekhar failed to establish the greatness of 'Rudramadevi' on the screen but entertains to some extent with Gona Ganna Reddy.

Decent Historical Drama

Rudrama Devi is a decent attempt from Gunasekhar. The film is bound to get some huge openings because of the buzz it is carrying. Finally, if you keep all your expectations in check and go with the flow of the film, you can easily give this film a shot for its lavish film making and historical lineage.

Great Effort, Poor Execution

Rudhrama Devi can still be watched once despite all the flaws because of the story and the insights it gives about the characters of the great Telugu kingdom. Guna Sekhar should have come up with a far more engrossing product as he repeatedly said that it was his dream to make a movie on the warrior queen.

Saho Gona Ganna Reddy

It is not Anushka's film all the way. There is an unexpected dose of Allu Arjun's quirkiness here. Some cliched elements like Anushka's fiery dance in the climax could have been avoided. Fairly good writing otherwise.

Without thinking about commercial ingredients, Rudhramadevi should be watched for its show of history. Telugu people will be knowing about this queen and how she's brought up before she got ousted from the kingdom and recaptures the throne herself. Kids and family audiences might enjoy the film for its history, while hardcore 'masala' lovers will find only Bunny's work amazing.

Rudramadevi is passion minus vision

Before the movie commences, Gunasekhar reads a disclaimer in which he says that this a part in the history that has to be told and they have done some changes to the story for a better screenplay purpose. Instead, the importance was given to Gona Ganna Reddy played by Allu Arjun. No doubt, Allu Arjun had a terrific screen presence in the movie, and the only character which creates interest in the film.
