Outdated Syllabus!

The major issue in this teenage love story is the predictability. Right from the beginning we know what happens next that he falls in love with her, her parents oppose, etc. We also can easily guess he would win the competition in Nagarjuna’s program. There are no nail-baiting moments, which are essential for a thread like this, in the Nagarjuna’s episode either. All in all, except couple of scenes, the cute pair of Roshan and Shriya Sharma, the movie doesn’t interest us. Totally old style of movie.

A Perfect Launch for Roshan!

'Nirmala Convent' is nothing different from the countless Love Stories, based on poor boy & rich girl, Telugu movie buffs have seen so far. The only new aspect would be the inclusion of 'Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu' concept, loosely based on 'Slumdog Millionaire', in the plot. This project launches Srikanth's Son Roshan as a confident Actor, Presents Nagarjuna as the Superstar he is known to the World & Brings the most successful TV Show to Silver Screen.

Simple and Decent

On the whole, Nirmala Convent is a perfect launch pad for Roshan Srikanth. The young hero shines in his role and surely has a rocking future ahead. The film also has some decent moments and moves at a simple pace. If you ignore the slow first half and predictable nature of the film, you can give this film a shot for its innocence and Nag’s cameo.

Lemme Lemme Say B U - Bores You, D U - Disappoints You

Predictability is one of the main problems for this film as we know that the protagonist is going to win it for sure. In the end Nirmala Convent turns out to be a promotional film for Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu show. Lead pair, Nagarjuna and the visuals are the positives but they cannot save Nirmala Convent, which has severely suffered because of a pathetic script.

Teenage love and message-telling

The film lives up to its image of a teenage love story. Although predictable, certain commercial elements could work for sections of audiences.

Not A Great Debut For Roshan

This movie is a debut for Roshan Meka, Shriya Sharma as actors and Roshan Saluri as Music director. To make an impactful debut the movie should have a fantastic premise and story which Nirmala Convent lacks. This movie runs in a very routine way and audience get disappointed from the very first 15 minutes having huge hype for its promotions. First half of the movie is tedious and second half is okay. Director Naga Koteswara Rao has failed in penning a convincing story and directing it. Second half seems to be inspired from Slumdog millionaire and the scenes where Roshan tries to get Nagarjuna’s attention has nothing to excite. King Nagarjuna’s guest role doesn’t make any difference to this pale and mediocre movie. His guest role appeals more to his fans. To summarise, this Nirmala Convent is not a great debut for anyone despite it’s cast and production.

Script falls short of passing marks

It is the same old story, oft told — the heroine is the daughter of a rich zamindar, the hero is a poor boy and both fall in love. A power struggle follows with the families pitted against each other, often underlined by exaggerated casteism. A happy ending brings the curtains to the whole show.

Convent suffers a weak base

Nirmala Convent has an interesting message and class to give but the highly enthusiastic students that we are, we wanted a lot more!
