Suriya is the only solace in the performance department as he does his role quite sincerely. The star hero has a good screen presence and tries to hold the film with his impressive act.

NGK is filled with so many negatives that it is hard to put everything here. Firstly, it is hard to understand as to how Suriya agreed to do this film which has no soul.

On the whole, NGK is a simple political drama gone wrong. Lack of basic conflict, gripping drama, and entertainment are huge drawbacks for this film.

Suriya is undoubtedly the show stealer for this film. The actor will mesmerize the audience with his outstanding performance in this movie. Sai Pallavi is an absolute delight for the fans. Her beautiful performance added more strength for the film.

Production values by SR Prakash Babu and SR Prabhu under Dream Warrior Pictures banner are lavish. Music by Yuvan Shankar Raja is okay and not all his songs are hummable.

Director Selvaraghavan has prepared a solid story for this film but it is too predictable and routine. The director even failed with the narration.

On the face of it, 'NGK' tells the story of a social activist who reluctantly becomes the grassroots activist of a political party, only to go on to send shivers down the spine of even the Chief Minister in no time.

The characters behave with a sense of conscious exaggeration. Sai Pallavi plays a beloved and worried wife of NGK.  Her pain comes through in an unexpected way in one of the moments.

'NGK' goes for a toss with its larger-than-life moments.  There definitely are some true-to-life scenes but they are few and far between.

Surya has done his best in spite of an underdeveloped character. His emotional outburst in a few scenes stands out. Sai Pallavi gets a limited role that is also not written in a convincing way.

Sri Raghava hasn't done a political movie prior to this. It is pretty evident that it is not his forte. He struggles to get a coherent script and keep the audience engaged.

It can be assumed that Sri Raghava's idea is to tell the story of a person who becomes CM by starting off as a ordinary party worker.

Suriya is an exceptional actor; he has proved his talent in many films. In this, he is the only actor who has invested some seriousness. When the film is going totally downwards, he has tried to lift it with his performance.

The film is shot lavishly. One song is okay but rest of the songs are bad. Nothing much to talk about other technicians.

Fifteen minutes into the film, you start squirming in the seat. Another 10 minutes pass, you begin to feel something is not going right.
