Mr. KK

 The protagonist of Mr KK, KK (Vikram) is a mysterious figure – a fact that holds true even after the film ends. Is he a super-cop, an undercover agent, a double agent or a master criminal

Vasu (Abi Hasan) is a trainee doctor who saves KK’s life after he has been involved in an accident and admitted in the hospital. But, this move of his leads to his pregnant wife (Akshara Haasan) getting kidnapped. 

The action scenes make Mr KK a visceral experience, even if Rajesh Selva’s filmmaking falls short on flair.

శివ పుత్రుడు, అప‌రిచితుడు సినిమాల‌తో విక్ర‌మ్ అంటే ఏమిటో ప్రేక్ష‌కుల‌కు తెలిసిపోయింది. ప్ర‌యోగాల‌కు ఏమాత్రం వెనుకంజ వేయ‌డ‌ని, పాత్ర కోసం ఎన్ని త్యాగాలైనా చేస్తాడ‌ని అర్థ‌మైంది. 

కె.కె (విక్ర‌మ్‌) ఓ మ‌ర్డ‌ర్ కేసులో దోషి. మ‌లేషియా పోలీసులు అత‌న్ని వెదుకుతుంటారు. ఓ ప్ర‌మాదంలో గాయ‌ప‌డి ఆసుప‌త్రిలో చేర‌తాడు కె.కె. అత‌నికి స‌ప‌ర్య‌లు చేసే ఓ డాక్ట‌ర్ భార్య (అక్ష‌ర హాస‌న్‌)ని కిడ్నాప్ చేస్తాడు కె.కె.. 

విక్ర‌మ్ చేయద‌గిన సినిమా కాదిది. త‌నలాంటి న‌టుడికి ఏమాత్రం ప‌రీక్ష పెట్ట‌ని పాత్రలో క‌నిపించాడు. సినిమా అంతా సీరియ‌స్ లుక్‌లో, దాదాపుగా ఒకే కాస్ట్యూమ్‌లో క‌నిపిస్తాడు.

The first half moves on an okayish note.  It's not exactly gripping but at least it generates some hope.  KK is chased by a gang, and the situations leading Vasu to cross paths with him are narrated well.  Though the sequences that follow are quite predictable, the interval bang passes muster. 

Director Rajesh M Selva has taken inspiration from the 2010 French thriller 'Point Blank'. With the tension set up right from the entry of Vikram, the movie moves is blighted by issues of predictability.

'Mr KK' struggles to make an impact.  If you go expecting an all-out treat from Vikram, you will be in for a shock.  The story narration is confused; whose story the film is telling becomes difficult to be ascertained.  Merely neat technical output can't salvage a film.  This one is an underdeveloped, unIndian thriller.

Vikram looks super sharp in his salt and pepper look. He does not have much to do in the first half but once the film catches pace in the latter part, Vikram is good in his stylish avatar in all the action sequences.

One of the biggest drawbacks is that the film lacks good action sequences. The posters and teasers promised that the film will be full of action but that is not the case. 

On the whole, Mr. KK is an ordinary suspense thriller which does not have many things going its way.

Vikram plays a role that is walk in the park for him. It would have been okay if he played it similarly but, that is not the case. One gets a feeling that he is going through the motions to complete it as soon as possible.

Director Rajesh M is back with a new outing after Cheekati Rajyam. His second attempt is also a remake like the first one.

Akshara Haasan is the only female member of the cast who has got a semblance of a role. She is wasted, after putting an endearing act initially. It is Abi Haasan on debut who get a proper parallel to the hero. 
 

Vikram is the show-stealer in the movie. For him, the role he played in the movie is a cake-walk. Though he has played roles like this in the past, he still tried to make it look stylish and different. He has got a powerful screen presence that would arrest the audiences.

The visuals are looking grand in the movie. The cinematography by Srinivas R is impressive. The editing is neat and decent. The film looks racy and kudos to the editor for coming up with such an interesting cut

The best part of the movie is the pace. The film travels at a rapid pace and makes the audiences engage in the plot. 

‘మిస్టర్ కేకే’ సినిమా థియేటరులోకి వెళ్లి మొదట్లో ఒక పది నిమిషాలు కళ్లు మూసుకుని కూర్చుంటే.. మనకు వినిపించే నేపథ్య సంగీతాన్ని బట్టి తెరమీద అద్భుతాలు జరిగిపోతున్నాయేమో.. తీవ్ర ఉత్కంఠతో కూడిన సన్నివేశాలు నడుస్తున్నాయేమో..

సెకండాఫ్ మొదలవ్వగానే సస్పెన్స్ రివీల్ చేయగానే.. బాబోయ్ ఈ మాత్రం దానికా ఈ బిల్డప్ అనిపిస్తుంది. మన ప్రేక్షకులకు అసలేమాత్రం కనెక్టవని పాయింట్ చుట్టూ కథను అల్లుకున్నాడు రాజేష్ సెల్వ. ఒక సినిమాగా తీయడానికి సరిపోయే పాయింట్ ఎంతమాత్రం కాదది.

సినిమా ఎలా ఉన్నా ‘మిస్టర్ కేకే’కు అసలైన హీరో మాత్రం జిబ్రానే. నేపథ్య సంగీతం మామూలుగా ఇవ్వలేదతను. తొలి సన్నివేశం నుంచి చివరి దాకా చాలా స్టైలిష్ గా..గూస్ బంప్స్ ఇచ్చేలా బ్యాగ్రౌండ్ స్కోర్ ఇచ్చాడు.
