Sadly, this film has very few things going it’s way. One of them would be the opening sequences, showcasing Sai’s lifestyle and his friendship with Jani.

This film lacks a proper story and adding to that, the offbeat screenplay will start irritating the audience even before the halfway mark. Most of the scenes look repetitive and they are further messed up with a bland narrative.

On the whole, Mithai is a poorly executed dark comedy that has very few things going its way. The film starts off well but loses track after 15 minutes or so.

Mithai grabbed the attention of audience ever since the wacky and fun filled trailers have been released by the makers.

Youth appealing trailers raised curiosity on Mithai. Audience do expect some dark comedy or any type of comedy at least in few scenes. But Mithai miserably fails in generating required comedy.

‘Mithai’ is a B grade film which tries to package as a trendy comedy film. With no sequence is able to make audience laugh, this film is avoidable one.

Rahul Ramakrishna as Venkat Sai and Priyadarshi Pulikonda as Johnny has done a fantabulous work in their roles. But their performances are let down by the poor script. Ajay Gosh as boss is good.

Songs composed by Vidyasagar are okay. No song stays with the audience after the movie. His background score is good in some of the sequences. Cinematography by Ravi Varman is nice.

Mithai is a film that promises dark comedy only in trailers and promotions but not in the film. This film revolves around a robbery in Rahul Ramakrishna’s house and the both friends Priyadarshi and Rahul go onto an investigation into that. Director Prashanth Kumar could have written a better and proper screenplay to make his story engaging and appealing to the audience.
