Killer

The screenplay of the film is the biggest asset. Even though it is a straight forward murder mystery, the manner in which the twists are narrated is pretty good. 

One of the biggest minus points of the film is the presence of two songs in the first half. Right when you think, the film is moving ahead nicely, the songs come in a speed breakers.

On the whole, Killer is a simple crime thriller which has some good moments in both the halves. Arjun’s performance and good investigation scenes are a plus. 

Director Andrew Louis has taken inspiration from the Japanese novel 'The Devotion of Suspect X' for the film.  Let's find out what works and what doesn't.  

The element of hallucination should have been narrated with imaginativeness.  The gloominess of Vijay Antony's character comes undone after a point precisely because of this, and also because of the almost deadpan environment.  

'Killer' gets its pre-climax and climax sequences alright.  The storyline, performances, the BGM and the cinematography are its assets.
