Khaidi

Truly, Karthi has given his cent percent for the film which is clearly visible on the screen. His makeover as a wild prisoner with a soft heart has been projected nicely. Karthi as an actor can easily store the film and role as the best in his library.

One of the major minuses for the film is that it lacks commerciality in it. The film is a serious drama and had a simple story and is a cat and mouse game between the police and drug dealer gang. 

On the whole, Kaidhi is a serious and dark crime drama that impresses its target audience. Karthi’s makeover and director Lokesh’s taking will be loved by those who enjoy serious crime dramas. 

Khaidi begins with a superb setup. Bejoy (Narain) leads a team of cops to confiscating a record amount of cocaine, hidden in a secret cell under the commissioner’s office. 

The best part is, Lokesh Kanagaraj gives us all this in the first 20 minutes of Khaidi, a tense, impressively shot action thriller, with Sathya Sooryan wielding the camera. The director manages to give us a pure genre film minus the commercial frills so common for South Indian cinema. 

Lokesh also comes up with interesting motley of characters like the temperamental brother of a gangster, the bold constable, resourceful students, spies in both camps and the daughter waiting for her father.

సత్యన్ సూరియన్ సినిమాటోగ్రఫీ సినిమాకు హైలెట్ గా నిలుస్తుందని చెప్పొచ్చు. అతని కెమెరా వర్క్ సినిమాను మరో లెవల్ కు తీసుకెళ్లింది. సాం సిఎస్ మ్యూజిక్ బిజిఎం ఆకట్టుకుంది. 

దేవ్ లాంటి స్టైలిష్ ఎంటర్టైనర్ తర్వాత కార్తి ఖైదితో ప్రేక్షకుల ముందుకు వచ్చాడు కార్తి. ఈ సినిమా దర్శకుడు లోకేష్ కనగరాజ్ కథ బాగా సిద్ధం చేయగ.. దానికి తగినట్టుగా కథనం గ్రిప్పింగ్ గా రాసుకున్నాడు.

‘ఖైదీ’ సినిమా నిడివి దాదాపు రెండున్నర గంటలు. ఈ రెండున్నర గంటల కథ రాత్రి వేళ కొన్ని గంటల్లోనే ముగిసిపోతుంది. ఐతే ఇంత నిడివిలో ఒక్కటంటే ఒక్క పాట  కూడా లేదు. హీరో పక్కన కథానాయిక కూడా కనిపించదు. 

ఎలాంటి కథలో అయినా సరే.. కమర్షియల్ హంగుల పేరుతో మసాలాలు అద్దేయడం మన దర్శకులకు అలవాటు. దాన్ని తప్పుబట్టలేం కూడా. అన్ని రకాల ప్రేక్షకులనూ అలరించడానికి.. మాస్ ను మెప్పించడానికి ఇలాంటి ప్రయత్నాలు సహజం. కానీ కథలో విషయం ఉండి

కార్తి ఎంత మంచి నటుడో ఇప్పటికే చాలా సినిమాల్లో చూశాం. ‘ఖైదీ’ అతడిని మరిన్ని మెట్లు ఎక్కించింది. తన కుటుంబానికి జరిగిన అన్యాయం గురించి ఉద్వేగంతో చెప్పే సన్నివేశంలో అతడి నటనను ఎంత పొగిడినా తక్కువే.
