Style Over Substance:

The movie goes off on terrific note till the intermission. Later, the director seems to have run out of ideas for the killings and also there are not much of surprises. The only surprise he has stored it for the climax part. In a nutshell, ‘Keshava’ stresses more stress on style. Although the film has nothing new to offer in terms of plot, it keeps engaged with the taking. Good marks for style, thumbs down for routine story.

Keshava killings

Keshava is a revenge drama with a dash of comedy and and a bit of love. Director Sudheera Varma gave a consistant characterization to hero character. Plus points of the film are Nikhil and screenplay. But, the killings should have been more interesting and story/narration should have been more robust. Emotion is missing in the film. We expect the director to play on the physical (dis)ability aspect (protogonist shouldn’t get excited and he should be cold-blooded) to create a few thrilling moments, but there aren’t any. The graphic killings in the film may not be suitable for universal viewing. On a whole, Keshava is a stylish revenge drama that appeals to a set of audiences.

A Gripping Revenge Drama!

Story of 'Keshava' is just alike any other Revenge Drama but the presentation of it makes the difference. Inspite of not having many twists n turns, What makes it work is Nikhil's matured performance, stylish narration & high technical values. First Half of 'Keshava' is gripping. However, Sudheer Varma wasn't able to maintain the same standards in Second Half. Full marks to Climax Twist and justification was given to revenge drama in the ended. Over all, 'Keshava' is watchable but it have few shortcomings as well.

Stylish Revenge Drama

On the whole, Nikhil once again lives up to his expectations and comes out with a different crime thriller. His performance is top notch and is the mainstay of the film. Stylish narration by Sudheer Varma, engaging first half and arresting visuals are basic assets of the film. However, the film dips slightly during the second half with too many things happening quickly. If you keep your expectations in check and go well prepared, Nikhil and team will ensure you a stylish crime thriller to watch this weekend.

Slick yet no Kick

First half moves at a very good pace despite usual plot. The film is good until the intermission part, but fails to hold the viewers interest post interval. Climax of the film seems hurried and totally out of place. Brilliant cinematography and superb background score will make us excuse certain flaws, but on a whole, Keshava ends up as an unexciting crime thriller. There is scope for an engaging screenplay, but the director prefers to style over substance. Keshava may appeal to an extent to the audience that likes watching dark themed movies, but the majority will come out disappointed.

A mixed package

'Keshava' is a mixed package. Stylish content and a gripping climax. Cliches yes, but it does succeed in scoring high with respect to all the technical departments.

Keshava disappoints

As the teaser and trailer revealed, this movie Keshava is a revenge drama of a guy with a rare heart condition where he have to do everything in a calm and composed way without any excitement or anxiety. Movie begins with nice and engaging screenplay having murders and some thrilling twists and mostly first half is so engaging with the tightly packed thrilling elements and comedy part. Comedy scenes work out very well and especially Athadu fight scene is superb which makes audience jump on seats with laughs. This half ends on a very interesting way which makes audience wait eagerly for the second half. This second half seems to be dragged and makes audience bored a bit. As the story line is so thin, its taut and gripping narration makes it a watchable outing. Director Sudheer Varma has done a good job in handling Keshava. The way he narrated a thin story in a gripping way is to be applauded. The rare heart condition of Nikhil which is shown in trailer could have better usage in the movie as it just has gone as a marketing stunt to attract audience. To summarise, Keshava disappoints with a nice first half and a flat and disappointing second half.
