Strictly For Fans

The movie is far better than "Sardaar Gabbar Singh" with hero Pawan Kalyan looking damn good and giving better performance but the drive is quite predictable. Where the director Kishore has succeeded is in bringing out the best from Pawan Kalyan and his rich taking style. Where he has failed is in not adding any novelty to the second half. A mass-hero movie should have better music, interesting second half and a glamorous heroine. In “Katamarayudu”, all these three elements are lacking in. All in all, “Katamarayudu” has fairly interesting first half and Pawan Kalyan in better form but the story and narration are too clichéd.

Made for the masses

First half of the film is decent as it has the fun part of hero who hates women falling in love. Second half should have been better. How many times we have seen hero going to heroine’s place and stay there in second half. Plus points of the film are Pawan Kalyan and Rao Ramesh. On the flip side, age old story and predictable screenplay mars the freshness. On a whole, Katamarayudu is made for the masses.

Only for Pawan Fans!

'Katamarayudu' is a remake of Tamil flick 'Veeram' which have an outdated plot. Pawan Kalyan's Role will be entertaining throughout the course of the movie. Heroism Elevating Scenes stood as an asset. First Half of the movie entertains with good dose of comedy, romance and fights. Screenplay in Second Half isn't upto the mark. Focus is mostly on the action elements here, comedy & romance take the back seat. Inclusion of few twists could have made it more engaging. Climax is just okay. Even better editing could have helped the cause. Overall, 'Katamarayudu' is a decent Mass Masala Flick.

A treat for masses

On the whole, Katamarayudu is a treat for all Pawan Kalyan fans. The star hero’s emotional performance, traditional look, and superb fun during the first half are huge assets for the film. Katamarayudu is bound to do well among the masses but we need to see how the film fares in the overseas market. If you ignore the routine story line and a slightly dull second half, Katamarayudu is one film which ends up as a decent watch this summer.

Boring Rayudu

Apart from Pawan Kalyan's screen presence and his timing in few scenes, there is not much to take home in the film. Katamarayudu has little to offer for other sections of audience except for Pawan fans. Pawan's star power will ensure openings, but it will need a miracle to go the distance at the box office.

Those dashing fanboy moments

'Katamarayudu' works because of Powerstar, who gives a number of fanboy moments with utter ease and grace.  While it will take time to establish the exact antiquity of the story (given how antiquated it is ASI should step in), the film works to an extent.

‘Paisa’ Vasool Entertainer

Katamarayudu is definitely not a complete entertainer, but it has elements for fans and family audiences to rejoice. Overall, it’s a worth watching in theaters. Since it has ingrediants for all section of audiences, it would do wonders in both class and mass centers.

Good first half and average second half

Katamarayudu is out and out commercial movie targeted for fans and mass audience. It begins on a very high note with a superbly shot action sequence and goes on and on with some comedy sequences involving Ali and others as well as Pawan Kalyan and Shruthi Hassan’s love track. Pawan Kalyan who don’t like the idea of getting married falls for Shruti Hassan, which is a planned sequence by his brother’s could have shot more convincingly. The vfx for the train sequence looks amateur and is disappointing for a big budgeted film like this. This half is entertaining and is a big relief for fans after the previous movie. Second half begins on a good note and comedy sequences in the beginning works well and then it falls flat without having much to entertain except for some elevation sequences of Power star for fans. Adding to this, Anup Rubens did a bad job in composing background score which doesn’t help the film at all and his songs are not so well shot leaving audience disappointed in terms of music. With a good first half and average second half, Katamarayudu entertains fans and is an average for normal audience.

This Pawan Kalyan film is a deeply formulaic drama

Pawan Kalyan's new film is very formulaic, which will only satisfy the core fan base of the actor.

It’s Pawan Kalyan all the way!

Katamarayudu is a big treat for Pawan Kalyan fans. If director Kishore Pardasani had concentrated more on the second half of the story, it would have been much more interesting, but it is still watchable.

few laughs and a heavy dose of South Indian machismo

If ‘Pawanism’ is a rather ambiguous term for some, then watching this movie will add clarity to what that actually means, almost. The film screams Pawan Kalyan in every scene and the script resonates with his real world tendency to care for the common man and their issues.
